| deadnick2003's Full Review: Gateway PLSM42TV 42 in. EDTV-Ready TV |
I purchased this TV because I was looking for something big and thin to fit into my bedroom. As it turns out I actually really enjoy the TV overall and when I play X-BOX its hard to beleive it can look so good. But before you run out and drop your 3g's take my advice and figure out what your looking for. In my case this TV works great because of its size but over all the picture quality is sharp but the black levels do suck (More like a gray). The unit is very quiet but if you put your ear up to it you will hear a hummmm. And for 500 less you can pick up an HDTV rear projection that will kick this things butt in Price, Resolution and picture quality. So if your into something that is flat and has an extremely sharp picture (Computer applications and console gaming) this TV rocks. But if your a DVD nut looking for the best possible reproduction of movie video then you may want to pass this technology by. I've since looked at TV's 3k more then this one using the same technology and they all suffer from the black level problem. Just FYI.
