Cons: Windows XP. Size. Size. Size. Its just too big and clunky.
The Bottom Line: Way too big.

Disclaimer: This computer was provided to my wife via her company. It is a "business" computer. We would not have purchased.
For HP/Compaq to really bill this laptop as a "portable" computer is a deceptive business practice. This computer is huge. Compared to the other laptops in our home, an Apple Powerbook G4, and Apple iBook and a Sony Vaio, it is gigantic. The other computers are all almost half the weight and thickness of this machine and they are all over 2 years old each. This is a brand new "portable" computer. Its size is horrible.
Besides the enormous size and weight of this machine, the machine has performed adequately at most times. The Keyboard is not very user accessible and feels weird. the keys are large and titled oddly and do not feel light and springy when typing. Its more like an old typewriter.
The machine has a 2 GHZ Pentium 4m, a 40G hard drive, a CD-RW/DVD Drive, 512 MB of RAM and runs Windows XP. All of this info can be found in just four steps! It did not ship with anything identifying the features or software and XP requires 4 steps to find the information.
The OS itself that runs the machine is clunky, counter-intuitive, inefficient, slow and buggy.
The machine has "crashed" or required a reboot 4 times in its first week of service. Not sure the exact cause of this. The machine also has issues waking from sleep.
When the machine is running basic daily tasks and third party software it seems to run pretty well. Fairly snappy perfomance, though a bit clunky at times.
