Pros: Extremely easy to use. Reliable. Good photo quality. EasyShare cradle works great.

Cons: This is a basic point-and-shoot.

The Bottom Line: Great camera. If you want to take pictures with no hassles, this may be the camera for you. I bought two.

I purchased this camera for a business environment (real estate) where several users will be using the camera on a regular basis. My requirements were extreme ease-of-use, accepatble photo quality, and built-in rechargable battery.

Kodak's Easy-Share system fit the bill perfectly. I loved the idea of having a cradle where the user could set the camera and press one button to both download the pictures and charge the battery. The first model I tried was a CX7330 (the most inexpensive). The photo quality on that model was extremely poor, so I traded for the LS743.

This camera takes nice photos. Not the best - I do find that inside shots are sometimes more dark and grainy than I would expect, and the automatic flash often fires when it is not needed. The lense is of good quality. 99% of the photos I take are reduced to lower size for web use, and look very good.

I am most impressed with the ease-of-use of this camera. For new users, it is as simple as pressing the big blue power button and taking a picture. I also purchased the optional Easyshare cradle. This works as advertised - set camera in cradle and press button to download photos.

Other handy features include the automatic image rotation - the camera has an orientation sensor so that when you take a sideways picture, it comes out right-side-up. Also, switching between image capture modes (such as an action mode for sports shots) is as easy as turning a little wheel.

Reliability has been perfect - we now have two identical LS743's which are interchangable. Batteries last a long time and the cradle makes sure they are always ready for action. We take about 500 photos/month.
