Pros: Reliable, rarely has a problem. Large feed rollers last forever. Very few jams
Cons: PhotoConductor Unit (PCU) doesn't last as long as advertised. Bypass tray is an accessory
The Bottom Line: This one or the 5622/27 is the one to get, they just keep running.

I'm a copier tech (no sales) and I reccommend this machine and it's new brother the 5622/27 to everyone. These machines rarely require maintenance, seldom jam and just seem to run forever. They are digital so only scan each original once. Without any accessories they can sort copies by using both drawers with letter paper in separate orientation (portrait/landscape) it's called rotate sort. Automatic document feed, finishier, duplexer, bypass, and shift sort are all available options. Also, fax and print modules can be installed. With print, everything you would do at the copier you can do from the computer. So if you need 10 sets of what you're printing you just tell it that. Rather then printing one set and then copying it. And that applies to all the options as well. If you're set up for it that 10 sets can be duplexed and stapled as well. If you want to sort legal or ledger then you'll need the shift sort tray or finisher. The ADF will not do mixed size originals, although the newer model 5622/27 will.
The PCU is a user changed item. While it seems expensive the cost per copy usually works out to under a penny a copy, even with the premature failure of the unit. The specifications say it will make 60k copies, but that is dependant on toner coverage. Real world will usually see poor quality around 45k, though I have seen a couple go 70k. If you get dark shadows on copies, print out the counter list, if it's dark as well it's time for a new PCU.
Unless you're good at budgeting for maintenance/supply items I highly reccommend service contracts on most copiers, there are just so many moving parts and dust, toner and developer material to gum up the works. Electronic problems are few and far between.
