Pros: Solid construction, sound and features for such an inexpensive player
Cons: Skips at the slightest bump.
The Bottom Line: Due to the extreme skip sensitivity of the unit, I can only recommend the Lenoxx CD-50 personal compact disc player as an inexpensive gift.

| triple_irons's Full Review: Lenoxx Electronics CD-50 Personal CD Player |
Seriously, dont drive and listen to music with headphones (its illegal anyway) always use external speakers when driving an automobile. With that PSA out of the way I can focus on the Lenoxx personal CD player. Its portable enough with the player (sans headphones) weighing in app. 9.5oz, and dimensions of 5.125 x 5.75 x 1.125H but this is not what you clip on your belt and go power walking with. Even if there were a way provided to strap it on, the slightest bump will stop the music for a couple of seconds, yeah, I can imagine jogging with something like this, I can barely walk across the room without jarring the unit, and that is my main criticism of the Lenoxx CD-50.
Ive had my player nearly 4 years now, and in that time it has received frequent to heavy use, especially as an alternative CD player connected to my home stereo system by using the line out jack (patch cable not included). Since buying a few dvd players the Lenoxx has gone back to its more personal and popular role. I basically threw away the cheap headphones that came with the unit (another criticism). For over 7 yrs Ive been using Pro-35 titanium headphones bought at Radio Shack, Im on my second pair, the sound is absolutely awesome, but enough about the headphones that didnt come with the unit.
The player is powered by 4 AA batteries or an AC adaptor 120V/60Hz (both of which are not included) battery consumption and life expectancy is based on volume and bass listening levels so at full bass and volume 8 hours is typical battery life (huh, what? oh yeah thats about right Id say.)
The listed View Details are somewhat erroneous so I shall give them to you directly from the included manual.
Plays all music compact discs I dont know about MP3s but it will play CD-Rs.
Bass Boost System I always leave this on
6 Digit LCD Visual Display Will display no disc when empty or disc inserted improperly (or it doesnt read the disc)
Track Repeat and Disc Repeat Replay one track or the entire disc.
Pause and Resume I'll get back to you in a minute.
Delux Stereo Headphones Included Thats subject to interpretation.
Line Out Jack Connects to your home stereo system
Programmed Play Up to 21 tracks can be programmed in any order you prefer, or play them back randomly.
The unit is easy to operate with an easily understandable instruction manual.

Recommendation
The Lenoxx CD-50 programmable compact disc player is a great entry level personal player, or pretty good for a cheap gift. I have no complaints about the quality of sound but then again its all about the headphones. The skip buffering or whatever is atrocious, the slightest bump takes it out and that is the only reason Im in the market for a new one. This thing is made well and will last, and like I said at less than 25 bucks (its been so long I cant remember exactly how much I paid but I know it wasnt much) it would make a good gift for someone that doesnt have one yet.
