Pros: Comfortable and ergonomic for righties and leftists, true 4-button operation, large scrollwheel with tactile feel.
Cons: No real cons at this pricepoint, for nitpickers it's not cordless...
The Bottom Line: At the entry level mouse level Logitech brings a touch of class to a cheap market. Highly recommended both as an initial purchase or a replacment.

Logitech Click! Optical Mouse
Format: USB, PS/2
Platform: PC: Windows 98, 2000, ME, XP Mac: OS 10.x
----- Basic mouse details -----
After using a standard Logitech two-button optical scrollwheel mouse for the last couple years on my PC I've become used to the ergonomic feeling and two-button feeling. After purchasing my Apple iMac Intel Duo 20" I tried hard to become accustomed to the included Apple Mighty Mouse. While it solved all the problems I had with the old Apple one-button mouse, it still required forethought to operate correctly. At least for me, it lacked the intuitive and straightforward feeling of the budget Logitech models. However, the Mighty Mouses 4 button operation utilized the Dashboard and Expose abilities of the OS 10.4 Tiger and I realized Id have to have a 4 button mouse replacement. Upon shopping for a new mouse I first tried the Kensington Bluetooth Pilotmouse in an attempt to utilize the Bluetooth abilities of my iMac. The sketchy operation and reconnection attempts when waking up the mouse proved to irritating for me to tolerate. I guess Im making myself out to be a bit of a nitpicker in the mouse area, arent I? I finally decided to go back to my old favorite Logitech and pick up the lowest priced optical mouse available.
----- Using the Logitech Click! Optical Mouse -----
Upon opening the box I found the mouse itself wrapped quite securely inside nearly impenetrable plastic armor (how do they expect you to open these boxes without stabbing yourself?), a simple PS/2 to USB converter for older PCs, and a manual/driver CD packet. Installation on my iMac was a simple plug n play affair, after inserting the USB connector the mouse immediately came online and didnt require any buttons to be reassigned. Default Apple OS-X key mapping is for standard left and right click functions, scroll wheel button (pressing down on scroll wheel) activates Dashboard, and the Application button activates Expose. After using this mouse for a week or so I can say I wont be switching back the Mighty Mouse anytime soon. While stylish, trendy, and sleek looking, the Mighty Mouse doesnt fit my hand very well. On the other hand the Logitech Click! mouse conforms to my hand nicely and has handy pockets on either side for your thumb and ring finger to rest in.
Windows XP NOTE: If youre a PC user and are looking for a great mouse on a budget, this product is right up your alley. Aside from being a great two-button scroll wheel mouse, the Application button brings up a list of all your open apps (much like Apples Expose, only not as cool) and allows you to switch programs without digging through all your open windows. Further customization is possible with the included Logitech Mouseware (PC) and Logitech Control Center (Mac) software. Assign specific buttons to certain actions and customize your Logitech keyboard if youre using one from the same program.
----- Bottom Line -----
No gadgets, no fancy technology, just a rock-solid mouse that will probably outlast your computer. When it comes down to it isnt that what we all want? Youll never need to replace batteries like you would in a wireless mouse, no balls to worry about thanks to the optical sensor, and youll have a comfortable place to rest your hand, be it your right or you left. Not being a leftist I cant comment from experience, but Ive tried using it with my left hand for a while and it was just as comfortable as with my right hand. I cant really say anything more about this product, sometimes running out of words to describe a simple product is a good thing! :)
