Pros: Good sound, ample connections and power.
Cons: Many documented service issues and lack of company support.
The Bottom Line: While in the past, NAD had an excellent reputation, this product has problems, and NAD has no 'customer care' and take an extremely hands off approach to solving problems.

| jeffkoontz's Full Review: NAD T762 6.1 Channels Receiver |
I was the owner of a NAD T762 Surround Sound receiver. I chose this model, as I had sold NAD products in the late 80's, and always had a great deal of respect for the company.
As this model is currently not the current generation of receiver, my detailed review of its specific features and benefits will benefit very few, however, in good working order this receiver is a fairly capable receiver in terms of performance.
My suggestion for keeping it in good working order, is to keep it as cool as possible, as my research as unearthed many issues with the soldering, and diodes used in this receiver that make it subject to critical issues if it is not kept in a cool ventilated environment.
Sound and power are both good, and NAD has always had pretty good, underrated amplifiers that go about their business producing a warm fairly flat (good) sound.
The Video and Audio connections are fairly ample, and my only dislike of the setup procedures, is that if you are connecting to a High Def plasma with component video cables, then you are unable to see the on screen setup menu's. In order to view the setup menus you need to run an additional S-video cable to a different imput source on your TV/Monitor, and in 2007, this seems like an arcane process - with current A/V receivers providing upscaling, etc.
My grief with this NAD product, is that in May of 2006, the LED displays began randomly going haywire, followed by the unit being unresponsive to remote control commands, requiring the unit to be turned off for an hour or so, to get it functioning properly. The problem got worse, and in late May I returned it to my local NAD dealer, the Listening Post in Pittsburgh (whom I would not recommend to anyone). They sent it out to their NAD Factory Authorized technician locally, who had my receiver from the end of May until the mid-August. Aside from the frustration surrounding the timeline, I picked it up got it home, connected it and within a few minutes was back to experiencing the same problem I had, prior to 2 1/2 months of repairs.
I returned it to him on Aug 17th, and began the process again to get the unit repaired. Unfortunately, even given my circumstances, there was no sense of urgency. After a frustrating ordeal of back and forth with the retailer and technician, took back my receiver in the beginning of October, unrepaired, as NAD had advised that the part needed would be a 3 month backorder. (Which I found unbelievable).
Contacting NAD directly for support is a challenge. You will not find any service 800 numbers on their website. You are directed to their 'help center' where you create an account, and can leave a question, and then check back for a response. After my ordeal with my local technician, I was hoping to have NAD take my unit back directly, or direct me to another Factory Authorized repair facility. However, after leaving details of my issues, and what I was looking for, NAD's response was to refer my contact information to the local service person I was hoping to avoid.
I was defeated, and actually went without a receiver for the better part of the last year. I started to look (earlier in the summer) for other repair places online who might handle my unit. One particular service shop specifically said on their website that they would not attempt repairs of these (T-762) receivers and that they were better to replace.
I attempted to contact what used to be a national service center for NAD, but had terminated their relationship with NAD for unknown reasons - unfortunately that meant parts would be impossible to get and they also did not want to attempt repair.
I have since replaced the receiver, and have not dealt with either NAD or the Listening Post since. $1200 for about 2 years of use.
