| armyman's Full Review: Palm Tungsten™ E Handheld |
The Tungsten E is a fine device when you look at the specs and use it the first time, but has a few small issues. It does not always work and the weak 90 day warranty, that does not cover the screen at all, should be your first warning sign. If I would have written this review in the first 90 days after I got the Tungsten E I would have given it a 4 or 5 easy. After about 120 days my battery stopped fully charging, which of course after 90 days was my issue. Next a stress crack appeared on the screen for no reason. I contacted Palm
and thats right
a stress crack that is in no way due to my handling or abuse of the unit is not their problem
especially after 90 days.
Luckily my company agreed to fix my palm for me and after a call to India, the location of Palms customer service center, I got the unit back in a week or so. Of course it took me 6 calls to get them to finally send a receipt.
I must say that since the repair my Tungsten E has worked well for me, even though it lacks many of the features of its bigger brothers such as a cradle. Unfortunately I cannot accept a piece of equipment that can just as often work as not work and that offers a joke for a warranty. I highly recommend you purchase an extended warranty that covers the screen if you plan on purchasing this item.
