Cons: Poor audio on messages (both In and outgoing) World's slowest speed dial
The Bottom Line: Awful Speed dail implementation, An intercom feature that needs work. Bad Audio. Recomendation Don't buy this phone!

I just purchased the 2462. Have spent about an hour working with it and will now pack it up and bring it back to Best Buy. It is missing several features that would have been very easy to install (and can be found on Cheaper phones)
Most annoying is the lack of a speed dial, I have a cheap phone that can speed dial 10 numbers with the touch of one button and 10 more by pressing only 2 buttons. This phone requires you to press the mem key and then scroll down thru your entire memorized call list in order to find the number.
put 20 numbers in the list and it takes longer (and more button presses) to get to your number than it would to simply dial it. Another irritation, you can not set the Intercom ring to be unique. It has to share the same tone as line 1 has. That means that you can't tell whether it is an outside line or someone in the house that wants your attention. So if you have a wife who doesn't like answering the phone (too many telemarketers!) it just rings forever.
I don't know why the intercom feature can't have its own tone or better yet, let it work like a real intercom and send your voice wafting through the house!
PS audio quality is really bad and there is no excuse for that with all of todays technology.
