After using a nine-year-old phone in our kitchen, we finally replaced it with the Panasonic cordless phone after my boyfriend upstaged my poor father who purchased a V-Tec phone. Well, we decided to keep both, placing the Panasonic phone in the kitchen and relieving the stress on the old phone whose cord was stretched more than 5 feet. The immediate convenience of this cordless phone was recognized, because we could now walk freely around the house, pretending to listen to the conversation while also doing something.
“Uh-huh, yes, that’s great. I know you love Staples.com. That noise? Oh I’m just washing the dishes to drone out your babbling.”
Not only is the phone’s reception extremely clear for me from both upstairs and downstairs, its base also includes an answering machine and another dial pad. The handset can store up to 10 numbers while the base can store 5 numbers for speed dialing. Because the base has a dial pad, I thought it would be useful for the speakerphone. But unfortunately, the speakerphone’s reception is very poor. Craning my neck like a giraffe reaching for the highest leaves on a tree, I found that even directing my voice towards the speakerphone bothersome. Basically, the speakerphone and extra dial pad are useless features, but the phone’s excellent reception makes it a worthwhile purchase.
