| Blackadder1000's Full Review: Samsung Yepp YP-E64 (64 MB) MP3 Player |
I had researched thoroughly over the summer holidays looking for the perfect player for me, and then I found it, the Samsung Yepp YP-E64. I was having a tough time choosing between the Samsung and The Rio 500. Then I found some good web sites, which told me the truth and helped me pick. Here are the differences between the Rio and Samsung:
1. The Samsung has voice recording (handy for recording those important parts of meeting or what homework is etc.)
2. The Samsung has phone number listing (good so you can remember you friend's phone number)
3. The Sasmung is minute
4. The Samsung is very light if you take the batteries out which are only AAA
In fact the only good think I could find about the Rio compared to the Samsung was the fact that it had backlight, which wouldn't be of much use. The sound quality of the Samsung Yepp is amazing and a friend of mine has the Rio 500 and I have compared the sound quality between the Rio and the Samsung and the Samsung wins hands down. Another great feature of the Samsung is the fact that it even costs £50 ($71) less than the Rio. Although the software for the Samsung isn't top notch and the download speed isn't very fast these do not matter when you have plenty of time on your hands. In the manual of the Samsung it says that you can order the optional USB adapter. When I went to the official Yepp web site (www.samsungyepp.com) you can order the cable but it is American which is a problem if you live in the UK so I made a few phone calls and got the name of a company who would deliver it, CPC the price of it was £30 which is a bit of a downside but anyway I put my full faith in the company.
Some of the great things about the Samsung are the case, which is Aluminium on the front side and plastic on the rear side, which makes it look really nice. The batteries seem to last forever with loads of life in them so the player must be using them well. The buttons are very sturdy and developed well, which makes it a good player to control. Some of my only problems are that the screen looks very blocky but that's not a great problem.
So here is advice if you're looking for a great player with supreme quality and a few extras bundled in then buy the Yepp which cost me £150 ($214) a great player and more besides.
