| yosoyjavi's Full Review: Power Acoustik Ohm1200-2 Car Amp |
There is so much I want to say, but as I sit here, recovering from the deafening amount of bass that this amp just pushed in my truck, I am at a loss for words.
For those of you that have read my pervious opinions of Power Acoustik amps, you know that I'm a fan. Now they have created this amp with the intention of making everyone a fan.
Let's get down to the nitty gritty. This demon from hell masquerading as an amp is rated at 2400 watts max. What does this mean to you and me? Basically, that we wouldn't need to look any further for an amp to push our bass. It is stable at 1 ohm, which is downright fantastic and the truth is that you can't put this amp in just any car.
2400 watts is 2400 watts. Expect to see your headlights dimming on the really low bass notes and expect to blow out anything that isn't a competition subwoofer. If you go with this bad boy, you really should think about going with some top of the line subs from either MTX (such as the Thunder8000 models)or some of the up and coming subs from AudioBahn. If you have the money, some Cerwin Vega Strokers would sound WICKED- but keep in mind that you would be looking at spending about 800 bucks a speaker for those Strokers.
Before I end this, you should know that the THD, total harmonic distortion, which is basically how much static you will hear- is a TINY 0.01%!!!!!!!!!!!
On a final note, you know you have a hell of an amp if your only problem is going to be finding subs that won't blow on you.
