Cons: Display, better directions, heat
The Bottom Line: You don't have to spend life savings to get great surround. Middle of the line, great price (also rebate) for anyone looking to invest.

Have recently upgraded to this new unit from a DD Philipps. What a difference!! Yes this has more power and DTS capabilities, but I know I'm running good when I can't hear my wife yelling at me from up stairs.
Set up was quite easy (and I'm not an expert DVD'r). I have Sony DPNS-300 DVD optical to rec'r. Have not had much experience with DTS, but have tested a couple of my DVD's and can't really tell much difference. I actually think DD sounds somewhat better.
Display needs to be somewhat bigger, but I can live with it. Make sure you can let unit breath, will heat up as they all do. Lets face it, we are all just looking for better "SOUND" and this stuff does not have to be that technical. This receiver delivers that. Great investment for the $$ and hey there's a rebate to!!
