camdlux's Full Review: Milwaukee Tool 8955 Upright Vacuum
My husband and I needed a new vacuum after moving into our first home in 1995. We found ourselves in a repair store that was also a Riccar dealer. We noticed all of the latest models of Bissel, Hoover,etc. lined up on the wall for repair and the gentleman in the store explained that the Ricaar was top notch with sturdy metal parts and not a bunch of cheap plastic pieces and so we were sold. Most of our friends thoughts we were nuts to spend several hundred dollars on a vacuum but it remains one of our best purchases to date. We never had any issues or broken parts and always had great suction. 10 years later,we took our Riccar 1975 upright in for it's first major maintenance and learned we could get $200.00 for it if we upgraded, so we did just that! Our Riccar 8955 is even better with floor lighting, foam grip handle and glides easier across the floor. We have 2 large dogs who shed constantly and the Riccar picks up the hair with ease.
A year ago I opened a dog training and doggy daycare facility and made the mistake of trying to "save" money by buying a more inexpensive Hoover-Big Mistake! I have been through 2 in a year and a half so my next Riccar purchase will be this weekend for a commercial use upright for my business!
