I love this vacuum

Pros: Great suction, long cord, vacs under the bed

Cons: Expensive $500.

The Bottom Line: Buy it! It is used by professionals who vacuum every day.

I had looked around for quite sometime for a new vacuum. My house is the dustiest place on earth. I had decided that the Dyson Animal was the one for me.

My mother has had a Riccar for about 10 years and just loved it. How can that be? It uses bags, it's doesn't have on-board attachments and no gizmos.

I visited the vacuum store with my mother to buy bags for her rather non-stylish vac, Riccar. I spoke to the salesman about the research I had done on the Dyson and what I was looking for in a vacuum. He let me know that I was totally misguided by the marketing. He showed me the the features of the Riccar 8955. It has maintenance for 5 years, a metal beater bar, 3 filters and IT IS MADE IN THE USA. It was the same price as the Dyson. What could go wrong?

I had just finished vacuuming my house with the old vac, a Phantom Cyclone and I tried my new Riccar. What a difference! I can even vacuum under the bed with this one. I managed to fill an entire bag on the first day. I can't believe how much dust and dirt this vacuum gets out of the carpet.

Stick with professionals when buying a vacuum.
