This is a strong amplifier. I've gone through a lot of amps. I'm not a car audio guru, but i have an electronic background, and have been around long enough to know my way around car audio fairly well. This amplifier can take some abuse. If you are looking for an amp that will drive speakers that should have a somewhat larger amplifier, this baby will probably do it. If you are looking to drive subwoofers, the Fosgate amps have a bass boost circuit that allows for a seperate gain to be set just for this specific application. This can allow for an amplification charictaristic of a larger amplifier to be applied to the speakers in a specific (most applied) range if certain requirements are made. First, you have to have really good speakers that are not going to bottom out, or distort, and secondly, have a power supply with either a good amout of current available, or have some type of capacitance device able to deliver the large amounts of current demanded during peak transients into the amplifier.
Don't care about that stuff? Wondering why you should choose this amp? Here's why. I live in Houston. There is a humidity percentage of about 99.9% about 99.9% of the time here. Not impressed? It gets better. I have this amplifier in a '66 Mustang that has rubber seals that seal about as good as a rock floats. I've had my Fosgate amplifier for at least two years, an this thing will not quit. Very high quality. Good components, and quality output everytime, all of the time. Buy one. I know this sounds like a commercial, but hey, you get what you pay for. I would buy another one if I needed it.
