| Fartherfromgod's Full Review: Rockford Fosgate Punch 250a2 Car Amp |
If you're looking to pour full power into a single amp, this is your choice. Using it as it's two separate channels, it lacks the power (125Wx2) to power a serious. I use it with a Rockford Fosgate 12" and that's what I'd suggest...use it for a single 12" or 15" sunwoofer. With the two channels combined the resulting 250W will provide plenty of power for a sub of these sizes. At 250W, if will exceed the RMS (and fall under the peak power) of nearly every sub on the market. The sound out of it is incredible, though with the Punch Bass turned up high, it will rattle. This isn't a fault of the amplifier however, but a result of amplifying such low frequencies (40 Hertz will rattle any car). I've heard it with a variety of subwoofer brands and it sounds great with all of them. The variable crossover works great with any deck that has a subwoofer crossover built into its control. Very easy to install, though the recomended 4 gauge wire is too large for the power inputs. Either crimp it to 8gauge or just use the 8gauge throughout.
