The Sebo X4 makes vacuuming a pleasure rather than a task. If you have plush wall to wall carpets, this machine is a necessity. Definitely worth every penny.
DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON A MIELE, they are severely overrated. Not only do they look and feel cheap but pulling the canister behind as you go can get extremely annoying. The power cord is half the length of the Sebo's and the attachments are a pain to use.
By going to a local dealer you can save yourself a couple hundred dollars off the price online which is $699 for the Sebo X4 I believe. The dealers sell them for $499 and you don't have to wait for it to be shipped. Be sure to ask them to throw in a box of bags with a filter, they did for me. You can find a local dealer on Sebo's website.
Some cool features of this machine include: Automatic power head height adjustment causing the brush roller to automatically move up or down to the appropriate cleaning height when switching from hard floors to carpet and vise versa. Upholstery nozzle, crevice nozzle, and dusting brush are the standard tools stowed onboard. This vacuum will also notify the user when the bag is full and when the brush roller needs to be replaced. The attachments are simple and quick to use, especially the crevice tool. Changing bags and filters is a snap. They say you should change your filters after every 20 bags. The service box containing 10 bags and both required filters goes for around $30. As I mentioned earlier the guy at the store just threw them in when I bought the vacuum. A box of ten bags is between $10-$15. The Sebo X4 does superb work around edges without even using the crevice tool. A couple of the best features I haven't even mentioned yet are its quiet operation and low reclining body/handle. It will recline all the way flat so you can vacuum under the bed and coffee tables (just over 5 inches clearance). That is truly amazing!
