Pros: Fantastic Sound and clarity. Fairly simple to use.
Cons: Need about 5 hours to figure out how to program and record.
The Bottom Line: If you have the time to read the instruction manual, it is worth the money. The portable minidisc is really cool.

| Korie's Full Review: Sony MD Bundle 6 Personal MiniDisc Player |
My husband is on a never ending quest to get the greatest stereo system there ever was. I love music, but not that much. If it plays and I can hear it, it is fine. But not my husband. If it don't make the windows rattle and your clothes move, it is not quite good enough.
He insisted on buying this minidisc player. I kept asking him what will we do with the 200+ regular discs that we have. He told me that we can record them onto minidiscs. What is the point in this? Am I the only woman that feels that this is not a necessary thing to do? I guess that I am too practical.
None-the-less, he bought it. I sheepishly have to admit that it is pretty cool. The sound is great and it is really easy to use. I am not the type of person who wants to or has the time to sit down and read a "100" page instruction manual to run something. This is fairly self-explanitory as far as putting a disc in and starting it. The remote control is still something that I have to master. It has more buttons than I can count. My children actually like pretending it is a cell phone. It has a digital read out on the front which is pretty cool.
The thing that is really cool about this and that I get the most use out of is the minidisc portable player that came with the main minidisc player. It is very small and very lightweight. I do a lot of walking and it is the right size. The discs don't skip either. It has a little remote like thing that has a complete read out of every song that you have on the disc. You can even mix up the songs and put them in a different order. The best bet to use in it is rechargeable batteries. The batteries don't seem to last very long, so rechargeable is worth it. I think that the batteries that we have are cheaper, so there is probably something better out there. This little disc player also has a kit that you can hook it up to your car and play the minidisc over your regular tape deck. It has great sound. Probably really great if you had good speakers (which we don't have).
I do believe though that I would use the minidisc player more than I would a regular cd player. It sounds better and I think that the discs would last longer because they are in a hard case and may keep from scratching easier.
