| ericcone's Full Review: Sony Walkman MDS-JE520 Personal MiniDisc Player |
I bought this Minidisc deck so I could use it for making mixes off of cd's and cassettes. Well I loved it at first, then came the problems. I had to take the player/recorder to get repaired three times. It was all for the same problem, which was the player/recorder wouldn't eject the discs. I've always thought Sony made great products with the latest technology, but I guess I was wrong. Now that CD-R recorders have come out, I feel as if the minidiscs will go extinct. After a few years the price of a CD-R recorder will become more affordable and I can buy one of those to make cd's instead of minidiscs. Also CD-R discs are much cheaper than minidiscs. I did like the features of the minidisc player, though. I liked how you could edit songs and the sound quality was great. I just think that buying it was a mistake. I would say to buy a CD-R recorder instead of a minidisc recorder because it seems that is were the music business is focused.
