ak3183's Full Review: Sony Net MD Walkman MZ-N510 Personal MiniDisc Play...
I got this MD player over the past summer in Walmart for just under $150, and now I see on sale for $130. This MD player is wonderful, and I'm glad I made the right choice buying this lower end Net MD over the last year's models of regular MD that features an illuminated LCD remote, with similar price. "Net" for its USB connectivity is the key to choosing an MD player; now the MD player can directly download from the computer at up to 32x, albeit the computer program really sucks. Finally the mp3 players lost its only edge over the MD.
My N510, which also comes with the car kit and a remote, is simply magical. Four Beethoven Symphonies on a single disc, with forgiveable loss of sound quality, this format should replace the CD. The remote that comes with the unit works great, while the included headphone just sucks, it's big and ugly, and if you replace it with your own, the cord will simply become too long (the length of standard cord PLUS the cord from remote to unit). They do this simply because you would spend a hundred dollars more to buy the other models that has an LCD remote and a cool earphone.
Consider a Net MD if you are looking for a mp3 player, it's really a better choice with cheap removeable media. If you're looking for an MD player, choose the N510; unless you got too much money to add on a radio, or the flashy LCD remote.
