Pros: Well built.
Not a stupid bandpass sub.
Forward firing driver.
Cons: Not particularly powerful.
The Bottom Line: If you're thinking of buying this sub for music, you probably should get a bigger/more powerful model or forego the sub entirely.

| coincidence's Full Review: Paradigm PDR 10 Subwoofer Speaker |
There are subs that generate sound pressure to the point one might inadvertently wreck drywall if you close the door. That is not a problem with this sub as it only has a 100w amp built in.
I bought this when I was on a fairly tight budget for the system. After upgrading, I find that my fronts almost drown out the sub entirely for most music -- I really only hear it when playing movies. Advice: If you are building a system with quality first and power second, spend more on the amp and speakers you really want and don't compromise that to add a sub.
Instead of huge power this sub offers quality sound. Unlike some subs based on a bandpass design that end up playing exactly one note no matter what the source material throws at it, this has fairly accurate reproduction. This sub only serves to reinforce my expectations of high build and sound quality from Paradigm products.
