| quagga's Full Review: Ezonics EZ-302 Web Cam |
My early morning (6:15am) wait in the Best Buy parking lot was rewarded the day after thanksgiving with a plethora of items free after rebate. One such item was an Ezonics EZCam USB. I figured, why not, so I squeezed past the other psycho shoppers to grab a couple. After all, it ends up being free.
The install was not very intuitive, but I finally got it set up. After tweaking the options, I got a decent looking picture from it. It has a decent refresh rate, and the picture quality is also decent. It functions as a digital camera to capture still photos. It is a poor substitute for a high-res digital camera, due to it's lower picture quality and the necessity of being tethered to a pc. However, the pictures captured would look decent on an amateur web site.
I liked the plug-and-play capabilities of this USB webcam. It makes it easy to plug it in when you need it, instead of having to reboot.
I got my EZCam free, and it has provided good value for my (lack of) money. However, I would not recommend paying the full suggested retail price. It provides decent, not excellent picture quality, but it may be good enough, depending on what you intend to use it for. I would recommend buying if it is $30 or less after rebate. However, if you require high-quality images, you probably would do better shopping around.
