| racery's Full Review: iRiver iFP-395T (512 MB) MP3 Player |
I upgraded to the IRiver 395T in May 04 after using a Creative Labs Muvo 128MB since Dec 02 and it's been working fine.
Initially, the software to load MP3s was the worse. And you couldnt copy MP3s off. I updated the firmware so it now acts like a thumb drive. Just Drag and Drop, On AND Off.
But thumb drive mode wont play licensed WMA and licensed MP3s. The easy way around that is to use the 395Ts built in MP3 encoder and record the songs straight into its memory as MP3. Then youre GTG. No more fumbling with licenses.
The multi-function buttons took a long time to learn and Im still not sold on the joystick.
Immediately replaced the included earbuds with Sony Headphones and it sounds great. The volume is not as good as my Muvo though.
Easy to turn on and off.
AA Battery has great life.
