Becuase of the wide variations in customer service or food quality this review is specific to the following location:
Chick-Fil-A 7063 Kingston Pike Knoxville, TN 37919 Phone: (865) 588-0100 Online: http://www.chick-fil-a.com/localsite_order.aspx?storeid=00507
It was another of those crazy hectic days that found me running in circles driving from meeting to meeting. On this day, I was in West Knoxville when my stomach growled to remind me about lunch. It was a good bit past lunchtime before I got the reminder. So, I began looking for a place on my side of the street.
One thing you have to know about Knoxville is that it is filled with restaurants. There are no shortage of places to choose from. The other thing you have to know about Knoxville concerns West Knoxville traffic. It can be a little challenging to navigate at times so I wanted some place that would be easy in-and-out. I spotted Chick-Fil-A and decided to pop in.
It didn't hit me until after I was turning that this is a drive though only location. Whoops! A glance in the rear view told me another car was coming behind me and there was no space to turn around. So, in-car dining would have to do.
There are two drive thrus here. It's one on each side. On this particular day the line moved quick. I felt like I was holding things up at the speaker. The staff didn't seem to mind.
They have a surprising array of items on the menu for a fast food restaurant. The entrees are all either chiken or salads. No beef. If you've seen the cute little cows in their advertising with the signs that say "Eat More Chicken" this is why.
They have healthy grilled choices as well as the deep fried heart attacks. Chick-Fil-A prides themselves on quailty ingredients. I've never had a sandwich that was less than excellent. On this visit I decided to get the grilled chicken sandwich and carrot-raisin salad for a side item. I also like that they have diet lemonade and got a large one of those.
The meal came to about $7. A friendly voice asked me to pull up to the window.
It turns out that the manager was helping at the window. We have an event coming up so I asked him a couple of quick questions. He said that yes, we could place a large order. In fact, if it was over $50 they would deliver it up to 50 miles. Not only that but it could also be placed online. If I wanted to make a smaller order and come in to pick it up that could also be done online. Not all restaurants do this. It's only select locations.
Color me impressed.
I came home and checked the website to find it was exactly as he said. We've not used it yet so I can't speak for that. I did find that the website was user friendly. They also sell gift cards on the site as well as other merchandise.
The restaurants are closed on Sundays so that employess can worship and spend time with their families. They also support the local community and sponsor scholarships and the Kyle Petty Charity Ride. It makes me feel good to be able to support a business that gives back.
The combination of giving back combined with excellent customer serice and great food will keep me coming back.
