Pros: a amazingly lively building, where you know you will be watching a good game
Cons: its location is in somewhat of a rough neighbourhood, parking can be a bother
The Bottom Line: This is one of the truly great arenas of a truly great team. Ask anyone who went to an Oiler`s game in the eighties will tell you exactly that.

| snied's Full Review: Skyreach Centre |
I moved to Edmonton in 1995, and since then have attended 7 Oilers games. May not sound like many to some, but I greatly enjoyed every one of them. This year, the Oilers are in a breakthrough season, and it was wonderful to see the hard working Oilers clash with The Mighty Ducks of Anaheim. A lot of people know that the Oilers are far from being the richest franchise in the NHL, but it`s extremely hard to notice from the outside. The Oilers are working extremely hard, and they win games on a tight payroll. This work ethic has gained the support and admiration of hockey fans everywhere. And believe me, hen Edmonton scores a goal, I swear that I have felt that building shake. Edmonton is a true hockey town, with a true hockey rink.
Compared to other teams like St. Louis or New York, Edmonton seems almost broke. This shows in their rink as well, maybe not luxurious, but like the team, it is full of memories as the Stanley Cup banners float in the rafters. It has won the admiration of nearly all its fans for its size (fair at about 17500 seats) its friendly staff, and the team`s desire to win. On another note, the convenience is excellent. The building is round, and food stalls dot the entire terrace, on all three decks. No shortage of food here, and the price is fairly reasonable, not to mention the quality of it reminds you that a little bit of effort was made.
One little hitch stains the convenience of Skyreach Centre, and that is the parking. At times, like a playoff game, the parking seems to choke you off. I think I speak for everyone when I say that Skyreach should invest a couple dollars and expand their parking lot a little. It would make it easier on everyone. If the type who can`t stand parking lots, don`t fret. I feel I should mention that if you`re coming from Sherwood Park (just outside of Edmonton) there is bus that charges three dollars to drop you off right at the door, and pick you up after the game. Though I`m sure other services like this exist, it is actually cheaper to take the bus then to pay 5 bucks to park your car.
Another problem does not really affect the rink, but it affects you mental mindset. Skyreach Centre is located is a very rough part of Edmonton. I`m afraid that it really would be smarter if you didn`t have to walk a long distance from the rink to get to your point of access. But besides this two minor blemishes, Skyreach Centre is an awesome rink with a lot of memories that are sure to stay in our heads for a long time.
