| ParisLemon's Full Review: Trans World Dome |
In a recent trip to St. Louis I was fortunate enough to get tickets to a St. Louis Rams game. These tickets are very hard to come by seeing as they are the defending national football champions and perhaps the best offensive show ever (Injuries of Kurt Warner and Marshall Faulk not withstanding).
The look of the Trans World Dome (TWA Dome to some) from the outside is really beautiful. Located right on the edge of downtown St. Louis, and well within view of the grand Arch. The Trans World Dome is a very modern (built in 1995) equipped football stadium. Not just in it's appearance, but also its' many ammentities.
Being from Cleveland, I have seen plenty of the wonderful new stadium we have there, but I actually like the Trans World Dome better. Inside you can feel the raw energy of the crowd even before the game begins. The booming echo of the conversations bouncing off the walls and ceilings. Even in the bathrooms you can feel the energy of the great game of football.
St. Louis is a great sports city, and the fans are second to none. Once the kickoff happened the crowd never stopped feeding the Rams with their cheering and booing as the times called for them.
The concession stands are superb here too. Serving everything from hot dogs to steaks to ice cream. The food, like every stadium in America is absurdly expensive, as are the seats. But there really isn't a bad view in the house. All the seats are angled right at the field and quite comfortable. I really like the addition of cupholders to the seats, it keeps things so much cleaner, in a very clean building and city.
Parking was kind of a hassle and very expensive. We ended up in a garage about a mile from the Dome for about twenty five dollars. Which I'd say is about average. But that doesn't interrupt the fact that this is a great place to watch a football game!
