Pros: should strive to be the best source for quality British programing in the US
Cons: Changing Rooms on 43 times in ONE WEEK!
The Bottom Line: Canceling the #1 rated show in the UK, EastEnders, means they no longer can offer the 'best of British programming'. Turn the channel.

BBC America should be the best of British programming in the US, but they no longer show great Britcoms and dramas.
They NO LONGER show "Parkinson' uncut, "Top of the Pops", "Ab Fab' or 'League of Gentlemen, 'The Royles' ,'Goodness, Gracious Me','Only Fools and Horses' or countless other shows that are some of the best and brightest of Brit TV. They recently canceled the #1 rated show in the UK which has been running for 18 years, 'EastEnders'.
They now fill the line up with cheap to produce and procure DIY (do it yourself) shows which already exist on 10 other channels devoted to DIY - not to British programming. If you like DIY shows, there's no reason to watch BBCA because 'Trading Spaces' (Changing Rooms) and 'What Not to Wear' are on Discovery, as well as countless garden shows and even 'Bargain Hunt'- in it's original British form are available on other channels that don't show countless repeats. The Britcoms and Dramas they do show are all available on DVD or VHS now so there's no reason to sit through endless repeat of the same shows. I've counted the programming line up for ONE week and 'Changing Rooms' will be shown 43 times! 'Ground Force' is on 27 times.
What do you want to watch? If it's the same 5 year old episode of a DIY show again and again then go ahead, for the rest of you who expect quality British programming, turn the channel.
