Pros: Can't think of any
Cons: Cancellation of popular shows; constant repeats of dumb ones.
The Bottom Line: Don't waste your time unless you enjoy seeing the same episodes of Ground Forces, Changing Rooms, and What Not to Wear ad infinitum.

| ilenes's Full Review: BBC America |
I find it hard to believe that several years ago I got a satellite dish for one reason only -- to be able to receive BBC America.
Gradually, I found myself watching less and less. Even if I liked "reality make-over" shows like Ground Forces or Changing Rooms or What Not to Wear (which, from the ads, is a truly hateful and hate-filled program) -- none of which I do like -- I certainly wouldn't want to watch the same episodes over and over.
The same thing happened with the mysteries, which I do enjoy. How many times can I see the same episodes of Jonathon Creek or Mystery in Mind before reciting the dialog along with the actors? As for the comedies, I don't like the new ones (I cannot comprehend the appeal of The Office; I feel like I need to take a shower after just seeing the ads) and even I've gotten tired of seeing the same repeats of Keeping Up Appearances. Enough is enough!
So the only time I would turn to BBCA was to watch the long-running superlative show EastEnders, the most popular show in the UK. I've been watching for 18 years, since my PBS station aired the very first episode.
You can imagine my chagrin when BBCA, with no advance notice or reasonable excuse, cancelled EE.
Since that date, I have not watched BBCA at all. And I have not missed it at all (except for EE, of course).
Over 15,000 fans have signed an on-line petition protesting the cancellation. We are boycotting not only BBCA but the companies that advertise there -- and we have informed both BBCA and the advertisers. One of the advertisers, in support of our cause, has stopped advertising on BBCA and offered a discount to EE fans. Even Whoopie Goldberg, an EE fan, has written BBCA to express her displeasure at the cancellation.
To make matters even worse, BBCA has treated its fans with utter contempt, deleting all messages from its boards that even mention the cancellation.
