Hi again (Reply to this comment)

You ought to put your e-mail address in your profile, so there is some way to write you without leaving public messages in this opinion! My e-mail address is in my profile if you want to write me privately. If you're afraid of spam from posting your address on Epinions, open a free e-mail account with one of the services that lets you do that, and change it if it starts getting spammed.

Interesting profile; are you the Richard Morton who wrote the book Justice and Humanity : Edward F. Dunne, Illinois Progressive,
by Richard Allen Morton? (I found it by searching amazon.com.) If so, they've got a feature there (amazon.com) where you can click on "I am the author and want to comment on my book" to write comments on it. (No fair reviewing your own book on Epinions though!) Amazon also has a music section, so you can go there and review the Tatiana CDs too.

If you want to start increasing your hit count on Epinions, keep writing opinions, and go around and rate others' opinions too. Write on a broad range of subjects like I do, not just the singers / TV stars you're obsessed with :)... try reviewing books, the colleges you attended, etc. This will get more people interested in your opinions, and they might just read your Tatiana reviews too. (Though in my own case, though most of my reviews are Highly Recommended and some have decent hit counts, the Tatiana ones have the lowest hit counts of all...)

Re: TV Grid Update (Reply to this comment)
by godspeede
Yes, was going to update that myself. Good news! At a Latin cd store, I not only found supposely out of print Tatiana (Brinca II), but found that I can order at least some of the rest not immediately available. It is distributed by Balboa Recording Co., 10900 Washington Blvd., Culver City, CA 90232-4025 pnone # 310-204-3792. I do not know if they sell directly, or even the extent of the Tatiana they offer; apparently they at least have Brinca I. As to the El Club de Los Tigritos, if you were fourteen would you want to compete with Tatiana lol

TV Grid Update (Reply to this comment)
by dtobias
Now tvgrid.com has updated their listings, and it agrees with TV Guide that Tatiana is pre-empted Aug. 19 for some animated movie about a caterpillar named Katy. However, they do have a Tatiana show at a special time Sunday morning, Aug. 20, at 7 AM (have to get up really early or set your VCR), and also 2 hours of Tatiana on Aug. 12 and Aug. 26.

The Sunday special time displaces El Club de Los Tigritos, which those Tatiana-bashing Tigritos fans over on their Internet forum are really gonna love... :)

TV grids (Reply to this comment)

So the tvgrid.com site disagrees with tvguide.com, which has something called "Katy La Oruga" (listed as "children's animated") in a 2-hour timeslot taking the place of Tatiana two weeks from now. (They don't show listings for three weeks from now yet.)

I wonder which is right, or whether Univision will change everything around by then anyway and neither will be correct.

A few more comments: You should fill in the profile page so I can see something about you... right now I don't even know where in the world you are! Go to your account page; there are options to customize your profile.

And about El Espacio de Tatiana: Univision seems to be tinkering madly with their schedule lately (something those Tigritos fans have been griping mightily about too, since it's now banished their show to Sundays only instead of both Saturday and Sunday). Earlier last week they had posted a schedule that called for two hours of Tatiana tomorrow, but that's been cut back to the normal one hour (9 AM Eastern/Pacific, 8 Central), with a rerun of the Diario de Daniela finale in the following hour. The following week they still show two hours of Tatiana (but could change it at the last minute again), but the week after that it seems to be pre-empted for some other show I've never heard of. (The tvguide.com site has been slow and unreliable tonight, so I'm having trouble getting back to that page to check it again.) I still have no idea what the schedule is supposed to settle down to when the new TV season gets going (and I'm not sure Univision's management knows either); will there be two hours of Tatiana, one hour, or none? Univision's website gives no clue.

I have her current CD Vamos A Jugar (see my review of it in this site), and also the Serie Millennium disc (which I see you've reviewed now). I have Chicas De Hoy on cassette (was there ever a CD version of it?) and have ordered her later CD Leyes del Corazon through a dealer of used CDs on gemm.com; this site is one place you can find that sort of thing (another is the auction site ebay.com, which is where I got the Chicas de Hoy tape).

The status of Tatiana fans nowadays reminds me somewhat of how Tiffany fans were around 1989 or so; there were some around, but they weren't well organized and mostly didn't know about one another.

I was one of the first (maybe the first; I'm not positive whether one other was there first) to put up a fan website about Tiffany; you can find it at www.tiffany.org. I think my efforts were a contributing factor to the fact that a fairly active fan community did eventually develop around Tiffany, and is now vigorously supporting her comeback (her new album is due out in a couple of months). I may have been the first Tiffany fan webmaster, but not the last; there are lots of Tiffany fan sites now, and an active e-mail list.

Perhaps I ought to put up a website about Tatiana, to try to start up something along those lines? If the similarity continues, though, it could take ten years before it really snowballs into something! :) At any rate, the bashers on the Tigritos list at one point cited the fact that there weren't any Tatiana fan websites as evidence that nobody seriously likes her. This almost seems like a challenge to prove them wrong by putting up such a site and seeing who gathers there.

I think we are part of a larger Tatiana underground lol. Suggest you seek out her cds. Her most recent, Vanos A Jugar, is generally available in most big city music stores, look in the Latin section. It is very good, and includes Chicas de Hoy. I have been also able to find her last "adult" cd Un Alma Desnuda, which features very sexy back and front covers, but which includes a song that decries the mistaking of love for sex lol. Other cds can also be found with some effort, check out online cd stores. I think she is indeed popular in Mexico. When I went into a Latin cd store they knew instantly about whom I was talking. This and the bashing by the Tigrito fans makes this very clear.

somebody else who likes the show. I first stumbled onto it a few months ago, and like it a lot even though I don't understand very much Spanish at all (though the show has helped me learn a little). I've managed to get a few of her albums, including an old tape from the '80s (Chicas De Hoy). You can read a few Tatiana reviews amongst my reviews on Epinions available from my profile page.

I wonder how many fans she really has? I don't see much commentary about her anywhere, and in some places it's all negative: I just got through looking at the archives of a forum on Club de Los Tigritos (another Spanish-language kids' show also aired by Univision), and it's full of bashing of Tatiana. It rather reminds me of what I experienced years ago when I first became a fan of the singer Tiffany; it was hard then to find any other fans, and some fans of other singers (especially Debbie Gibson) who did have active fan communities made a point to bash Tiffany any time they mentioned her at all, because they somehow thought that respect for Debbie Gibson's great talents would somehow increase if Tiffany (who they thought of as being much less talented) could be knocked down a few notches. I see the same effect happening where fans of another Spanish kids' show like Tigritos think that the talents of that show's cast would be appreciated more if the supposedly less-talented Tatiana could be knocked down a little.
