| austar1's Full Review: Korean Air |
In September 2005 I travelled from Brisbane, Australia to Seoul, South Korea with my University.
Check-In in Brisbane was smooth and efficient and staff were friendly and courteous. Flights on both legs departed and arrived on time.
COMFORT
Flights were onboard an A330 in economy class. This aircraft is much more comfortable than a 747 I have flown on previously. Seating configuration is a 2-4-2. And there was sufficient legroom (more than other airlines I have flown) especially considering I am 6'4! The cabin appeared modern and very clean. And a pilow, blanket and headphones were available at each seat.
ENTERTAINMENT
Entertainment was limited. Whilst the audio selections were great with around 18 channels, there were no personal tv's. Two movies were shown on the main cabin screens, one American and the other Korean. This made the 10-hour flight seem to drag on. Most passengers just napped instead of watching which we ended up doing.
FOOD & Drink
Before each meal a hot towel service was provided which i think is excellent. From BNE to INC we were served breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as snacks in between. A korean or western choice was available. The portion size was generous, and most of the meals were ok except for the omelete and breakfast which was not so good - everyone in our group couldn't eat it lol.
The cabin crew would come around offering snacks and non-alcoholic drinks very regularly. Since we are students, and the inflight entertainment was lacking we decided to have a few drinks together. We had to ask for beer - and the cabin crew were more than happy to get this for us along with peanuts.
CABIN CREW
One of the best things I can say about Korean Air would be the cabin crew. They were always courteous, friendly, well-groomed and professional. They spoke fluent english, as well as Korean and Japanese. They had a regular presence in the cabin throughout the flight and a press of the call button would see them at your seat promptly.
Overall I had a good experience with Korean Air and I would reccomend them and fly with them again for sure.
