Pros: Low airfares
Cons: the workers seemed a little angry at the world....
The Bottom Line: I recommend it for the thrifty people who can't afford expensive airfares. But if you are the type that wants someone to kiss your feet during your flight...find another airline.

| yolers's Full Review: America West |
When I was planning my trip to California, my best friend and I had some trouble. I mean we wanted a cheap airfare, but yet we wanted good service and a plane that will actually get us there safely. So when we came across America West..we were kind of "iffy" on it. I mean I never heard of it...but fare was pretty darn cheap if you ask me...$198 to fly to LA. Not bad when you are looking at Northwest and the fares are reaching around $400. So anyway after some arguments and hours spent in front of the computer staring at price after price we decided to go with America West. We called the phone number and the lady who helped us (if you could call it helping) was a real *cough* anyway...so after getting so much unneeded attitude we decided to forget people and go with buying from the computer.
After the experience with the "itch with a B", i got kind of nervous...i mean what will the flight attendents be like and the ticket agents?? So I figured a little visit with Epinions will calm my nerves and i can see if anyone recommended America West..a few did and a few didn't. In every opinion everyone seemed to talk about delays..which made me nervous. I didn't want to be delayed.
So anyway fast forward to the flights. (i don't wannna bore you kiddies) The ticket agents were somewhat pleasant..i mean I'd be grumpy too at 6 am. Our flight took off on time actually. The flight attendents didn't seem liek they wanted to help you out too much. My best friend cut herself and needed a band-aid, it took them about 15-20 minutes to get it. Or we asked them questions and we kind of got attitudes from them, so i would say that service wasn't that friendly.
On to the food....how was that? Actually it was pretty darn tasty if you ask me :) I flew on many international flights and I'd have to say that these meals were actually pretty good and actually better than the other meals that I had.
So did I have any delays?? Just one, but it wasn't the airline's fault actually. There were people taht would not sit down..so we had to wait for these....jerks....to sit down before we could take off. So that was only 20 minutes or so that we were delayed..not too bad.
The only thing I would have to complain about was the fact of how they sat us. They sat my best friend and I at least 3 rows away from each other..what's up with that?? We had to do some switching..so it worked out but still...I mean when we bought our tickets we chose our seats.Oh well, and also the staff. I mean they were friendly but then again they weren't. They could've had a few more smiles on their faces and been more helpful..but oh well what can you do. Oh yeah also, the rental for headphones is 5 bucks!? I was shocked, there was no way that I was going to pay 5 bucks to watch some movie and listen to the same music over and over again. But, i discovered something at the end of my flight (my luck...i couldn't figure this out in the beginning so I could watch a movie), you can use any type of headphones..it doesn't matter. So if you take your walkman or something you can use those headphones instead of paying for some overly priced ones. I'll know for next time. :)
So do I recommend America West?? Heck yeah...i mean shoot, it got us to cali for under 200 bucks. That's soemthing you can't shake a stick at. But if you want great quality and can afford it...fly something else..i know i would if i had the $$$$$. :)
