Pros: Never rains, crystal blue skies, lots to see and do, very friendly people.

Cons: Summer temps, the drive from LA.

Other than the temperature, we had a wonderful time in Palm Desert in September. The Marriott Desert Springs was fabulous, some excellent restaurants, although the spa was just so-so. The desert jeep tour of the San Andreas fault was so interesting and informative... I would recommend it highly but go on the early morning tour if in the hotter months. No end of fabulous restaurants in the area.. somone said 500 and I can believe it.
We went to 2 casinos... Trump 29 had more choices but not as nice as the Agua Caliente. The food at trump was awful, and there was minimal no-smoking areas.
Shopping is plentiful and wide range of prices and styles. WE were there 4 days and did not get to see it all.
