Desmond Diamond is the actor who played "Screech" on Saved by the Bell.
He is very cute (my dog, not the actor), but also kind of dumb. He likes to play with rocks and eat earthworms...

Maybe I just didn't go to enough "local" type places to find Spam, or maybe there's less of it on Kauai than on other islands?
Our dog is a 9 week old German Shorthaired Pointer named Desmond. We named him after Desmond Dekker, but whenever anyone asks I say he's named after Desmond Diamond.

And yes, I believe SPAM is everywhere, but you don't just order it plain - it comes on stuff or

Well, excuse me for living!
Actually I only made that statement because I was told so many times while I was there that shave ice is absolutely, positively not like a sno-cone. In fact I don't think I ever read anything about Hawaii that failed to mention the fact that shave ice is not like a sno-cone. If shave ice is so radically different from a sno-cone, why don't people say it's not like ice cream?
I guess I need to clairify my statement.
For the record: Shave ice tastes 1000 time better than any sno-cone you will ever have.
For the record: Shave ice is a pile of ice covered in brightly colored syrup, but it is not a sno-cone.
