The hill country of Texas is the mot beautiful site you can experience. Having lived in San Marcos, Texas all my of my life I have gotten to know a small community known as Wimberly, Texas which is about 15 miles from San Marcos and is hidden from the world.
Driving to Wimberly from San Marcos is such a quiet resort for me because of the wonderful hills and valleys I get to see along the way. The winding of the road,which is known as the devils's backbone, is hazardous but we tend to get used to it.
Wimberly, Texas is very small tourist town located deep in the hill country. The small community surprisingly brings in many tourist and is basically alive because of the beautiful hills. Many shops can be found in Wimberly like candle, collectors, and seuvenior shops.
In San Marcos, Texas, greatly recognized for having South West Texas State university, hills are limited to the college area. The whole university was built on a big hill and looks interesting if standing from a distance. This would be a great place for a visiting stop if you are ever coming this direction. Even if your coming just to see the University I can garuantee you will have a wonderful visit.
