Pros: Beautiful Scenery, Great Rooms, Staff, Service
Cons: Timeshare Sales Speech
The Bottom Line: This place was great - I would recommend it just to hang around the pool and relax - restaurants are close or order in pizza!

| mrsrgm's Full Review: Virginia Beach |
My husband and I travel a lot and I have never had a more perfect vacation than Virginia Beach in October. I will detail the sightseeing and things to do in another Epinion. This is focused totally on our lodging.
We stayed at Turtle Cay on Atlantic Avenue. This is a timeshare (we received a week stay as a gift) and it is perfect. We are now seriously considering purchasing a timeshare as a result of this vacation - but that is another Epinion!
The pool area is especially pretty. We didn't make use of it other than to walk passed a couple of times, but basically there are two separate pools with waterfalls, lots of greenery and a hot tub. Very exotic. There seemed to be plenty of chairs and tables for people to enjoy - but this was off season, so the place wasn't packed. I would always recommend Virginia Beach in October! There are tiled Turtles on the bottom of one.
We didn't have a view. Atlantic is the last street before the boardwalk and ocean, but Turtle Cay is on the opposite side of the street from the ocean, so you have to walk across the street and passed a building (another hotel) to see ocean. It was worth it. Even without an "ocean view" we will probably stay there again. The staff was friendly and professional, the rooms were beautiful. I can only say it was great - and a great room really makes a relaxing trip - especially the big jacuzzi tub.
The only "con" was the timeshare sales speech. This is only a con if you really don't want to take time from your vacation or listen to silly sales talk. We are actually thinking of buying and they give free gifts, so we sat through it and got the info. You can say no and in fact if you just ignore the "we have $50 in certificates for you" phone call on your message machine you can get out of it entirely (and who wants to answer their phone on vacation?). I will say that the gifts are legit and we had a nice dinner on our certificates.
All in All, if Virginia Beach is in the works for you, try Turtle Cay, you won't regret it.
