Cedar Point is basically Ohio's Disneyland. It is a major attraction that offers attractions for all ages. It's a great way to have a fun day!
If you are a roller coaster fanatic, or just love the thrill of high velocity experiences, then Cedar Point should be on your planned destination list. The park has received many awards for their roller coasters, which they have quite a few of, you could actually call them the main attraction.
The Coasters
Blue Streak
This is the oldest coaster still in the park, and it feels like it is. It is a fast, hilly out-and-back coaster. The 2,558 foot track is covered in about 2 minutes at speeds approaching 40 mph. The track will sufficiently jolt around every rider. If you have a bad back, or weak kidneys stay off of this ride. On the Up side, it usually has the shortest lines of any ride in the park.

Cedar Creek Mine Ride
This ride puts you into a runaway mine train. The track is laid out to give you the illusion that you will collide into objects and walls. It's a very disorienting ride, but a lot of fun. The 2540 foot long steel track is covered in about 3 minutes.

Disaster Transport
This is the parks only indoor coaster. Passengers are transformed into futuristic astronauts when they enter Disaster Transport, a roller coaster space adventure. During their mission, riders encounter attacking space pirates, exploding asteroids and a laser-beaming satellite along the way. This is a very tame ride. It's main features are smoke and lights. The high point is a flat spiral that is accompanied by a smoke effect and strobe light.

Corkscrew
This ride was the world's first triple-looping coaster. The first drop, at 85 feet, gives a 48 mph top speed for the 2,050 feet of track. Ride time is about two minutes. This ride will flip, turn and spin you. It has comfortable shoulder harnesses that will hold you firmly in place, while giving you the feeling of weightlessness as you flip upside down. My favorite part of this ride is it's layout. One of the corkscrew sends you spinning over a pedestrian walkway in the park, it's a thrill for both riders and viewers.

Gemini
This is a very uniquely built coaster with a combination of wood and steel working together in this 3,935 foot coaster. Riders compete for a first-place finish as red and blue trains race each other around Gemini's wooden structure on steel tubular tracks. Top speed is 60 mph in its just over two minute ride.

Iron Dragon
This suspended coaster takes riders from the tops of trees to the surface of a lagoon. With two lifts, this 2,800 foot mesh of twisted metal screams through its circuit at 35 to 40 mph for about two minutes. The highlight of this ride is a flat spiral that gives you quite a few g's.

Magnum XL-200
This was the first coaster to tip the two hundred foot barrier. The record-breaking first drop is 205 feet at an angle of 60 degrees - top speed is 72 mph. This is not a ride for the faint of heart. The first drop will leave you breathless and the second won't give you much time to recover. This was the first coaster I ever road and it's the one that hooked me.

Millenium Force
This is the new ride for the 2000 season. I will be honest, I have yet to ride it, but I'm looking forward to it. It stands 310 feet into the air and reaches speeds of 92-mph along 6,595 feet of track that winds its way through the center of the park, crosses a lagoon and dives onto an island. I have heard good things about this ride and long to strap myself into the front car.

Mantis
Located in the center of the park, Mantis rises from the Cedar Point Lagoons. Riders are strapped into the cars in a standing position. There's an uncomfortable, but necessary shoulder harness and a seat that resembles on from a bicycle. The Mantis sends riders over 3900 feet of track, reaching 60-mph, going through six ride elements, including four that turn riders upside down!
Ride Rating: ***
Raptor
This is my favorite ride! An inverted roller coaster, Raptor has seats similar to ski lift chairs, suspended below its inverted track. This allows the unique feeling of flight as your feet dangle below. Riders see nothing but the sky and track above them, and nothing but their dangling feet below – just a few feet above the ground! Raptor passengers also tumble head over heels six times as they travel through the 3,790 feet of track, reaching 57-mph. The one tip I can give you is to make sure your shoes are on tight, or you'll be barefoot for the rest of the day.

Cedar Point also features many kiddy rides for small children and their parents, including a miniature Gemini Coaster. The kids can also spend some time with the Peanuts gang in the Camp Snoopy section of the park
In-between your roller coaster rides you can check out their options. There are many standard amusement rides, like the tilt-a-whirl, enterprise, ferris wheel and carousel. My favorite is the witches wheel.
The Midway features the classic carnival games: Ring Toss, Dart Toss, Ball Toss, Swirling Puzzle, Disc Drop and many more. The odds are a little better then your home town carnival games and the prizes are pretty good.
There's also a frontier section that features different trades like candle making, leather design and more. You can participate, for a fee, and dip your own candles or pose for an old time picture.
The admission is a bit pricey.
Adults: $38
Kids: $10
Seniors: $22
And the food isn't cheap either. I would suggest packing a cooler and avoiding the concession stands.
In general Cedar Point is a great place for groups of friends or a family. Just get their early so that you can park close and get to some of the more popular rides before the lines are too long. It might sound crazy but try to get there on holiday weekends. If you talk to the employees that is their slowest time, odd but true.
