I joined 24 hours fitness on January 2009, and by May, I decided I wanted to cancel my membership... well... you can't do it online, you can't do it at the gym, so you have to do it on the phone, for which you have to call between business hours (pacific time) and wait about 30 minutes for someone to actually answer. They will then offer you hundreds of things so that you don't cancel, ask you 100 questions, and finally they will tell you you needed to tell them 30 days before, so they will still charge you for the current and next months, and since you pay a month in advance, it means you will pay for three more months you won't use. So I cancel my membership in may, and it takes affect on August!. They also require automatic payments, so unless you cancel your credit card or do something of the sort, you will be charged. If somehow you manage to prevent them from taking your money, guess what... they will mess up your credit. I can't complain about the facilities or the staff (besides being always crowded), but their salling tactics and their process to cancel the membership are just not worth signing up with them. If you plan to "marry" them and stay with them for years, then it is a good gym. However, let's face it, most of us have the best intentions at the beginning, we all want to get fit and work out, but (ironically) it does not work out =). Thanks.
