| pageantlady's Full Review: Carbohydrate Addict's Diet |
Like millions of women worldwide, I have tried every diet ever published. Oh yes, I lost the weight, probably at least 100 pounds or more, over my life, only to gain it back plus more each and every time. I saw the Kellers on Oprah's show and figured why not give it a try. I only invested $6.99 for the paperback book and away I went!
Let me say up front that I am 54 years old and very involved in beauty pageants as a director, coach, judge and friend. I am continuously telling girls and women to "be the best you can be" but at my weight, I
wasn't practicing what I preached. I watched my Mother die from cancer at the age of 63 and just a few days before her death, I asked her if she could live her life over, what would she do differently. Without any hesitation, she said, "I would take better care of myself".
With this statement in mind, I knew I had to change my way of eating and my lifestyle where food was my friend, my crutch. I ate when I was sad, happy, lonely, all the time.
I started the Addict's diet in late July 2000 right before a trip to Hawaii for the Mrs. America Pageant. I stayed moderately to the diet for those 10 days and came back only having regained 2 lbs of what I had lost prior to my trip. I went full throttle back to the program, limiting my carbs and making certain to eat my 1 cup of salad for lunch and 2 cups of green salad before my dinner. I read labels on everything I buy and limit my reward meals to a minimum meaning I don't eat a lot of desserts or more than 1/2 cup of rice, pasta, etc., and I admit that a lot of times I don't eat the major carbs at all because I am already full from my salad and protein.
I highly recommend to any one to give this diet a try. Most any diet will work if you stick to them, but what I am so pleasantly surprised about with this diet is that I do not get hungry! My stomach does not growl nor do I have the cravings for foods that I have experienced on other diets.
I have lost 25 pounds since the end of July and have another 30 or more to go. I feel better than I have felt in years and I know this is something I will live with for the rest of my life. It is easy to stay focused and eating out is no problem.
Try it, what have you got to loose?
