I love the program! I have been on NS since May 12, 2005 (it's Aug. 16, 2005 today). I have stuck tight to the plan and have lost 34 lbs. since beginning the NS meals (41 lbs. altogether, as I started dieting on my own on April 21, 2005).
I find the food to be satisfying, tasty and convenient. The support system, counselors, customer service and online tools are great!
It's very simple. You purchase their food...breakfasts, lunches, dinners AND desserts... and supplement that with your own fruits, vegetables and salads. (and don't forget at least 8 8oz. glasses of water each day!)The portions of their entrees are enough that you won't feel as if you are having to do without. This is definitely NOT a starvation diet, by any means. Their online diary is most helpful to keep up with your food intake and plan your meals, if you like. And, if you have any kind of problems or questions, your counselor can access your diary, so that he/she can see where you're at, what your doing, and then be able to give you the best advice possible.
Nutrisystem's autoship delivery is great, as well. You get a 10% discount for signing up for autoship and can cancel at any time, even after your first order. You get an extra week of food for free as a sign on bonus, as well! You can't beat that! After three shipments you move up from a 10% discount to a 15% discount. Shipping is always free on autoship. You can also get an extra $15 off your first order with a coupon that a member sends you and if you "click in" every day, you get a $10 coupon for every 50 clicks. The best thing is that you can edit your order any way you like to include the entrees you love and exclude the ones you don't like so well. You can even exchange things you don't like for things you do. Just send them back and they will send your replacements. You can also delay your autoship delivery date as much as you like without any penalties. It's all geared very much toward making the customer happy.
OH, and as a little incentive, you get a really cute little beanie baby bear for every 10 lbs. you lose. They have Nutrisystem and the number (10, 20, 30, etc.)embroidered on the back and the number embroidered on the front. They are really cute and a nice little gift. Who knows, they may be collector's items in the future :)
This plan not only gets the weight off but teaches you to make life changes by learning to make the correct food choices, so once you are off the plan you can maintain your weight and not gain it all back, like with other diets. It is a very healthy plan, as well. Actually, this is not a 'diet'. It's a lifestyle change, for life. You can even learn to do the program on your own, with your own food, in order to maintain, as well. The book, 'Nutrisystem Nourish', contains recipes and advice helpful for both the weight loss and maintenance stages. You can find really good deals on it at Half.com and also Amazon. This is what I plan on doing, as I intend to continue the good eating habits. Eating healthy has made me much more energetic. I never feel yukky or run down anymore.
