Pros: Utility, interior room and comfort, price, styling (if you like it) Cons: Merely adequate performance without turbo, poor fuel economy, styling (if you don't like it) The Bottom Line: If you like the styling, then the utility and price should seal the deal. If you don't care for the styling, other hatches perform better and get better fuel economy
When the PT Cruiser was first introduced as a 2001 model year car, waiting lists were long and many dealers demanded well over sticker. As with just about every hot model, sales cooled within a couple of years, and with the 2005 Chrysler cut ...

Pros: It's quiet, peppy for an entry priced car, handles and rides great Cons: It's too dang cute for a man to drive, some slight ergonomic issues The Bottom Line: As much as I want to despise the PT for sickening cuteness, I'm ashamed to admit it's a fine automobile. I'd recommend it to any . . . er, woman.
Its a dismal thing Its a dismal thing for any real man to be seen driving about in a Volkswagen Bug, a Mazda Miata or a P.T. Cruiser. These cars might not be specifically made for women. But, there is little doubt that women make up the ...

My New 2006 Chrysler PT Cruiser is MIGHTY FINE! I have been in need of a new car for a year or so now. But alas, finances being what they are have kept me from purchasing anything. I have been driving my old 93 Dodge Caravan for about 13 years now, ...

Pros: awesome styling inside and out, plenty of personal, passenger, cargo space in hardtop, silky ride Cons: not the best gas mileage The Bottom Line: With fantastic styling inside and out, loads of interior space, and a smooth, quiet ride, the Chrysler PT Cruiser epitomizes what the American driving experience should be.
INTRODUCTION AND STYLING I drove the 2006 Chrysler PT Cruiser hardtop with the base engine. For those of you who don't know, PT stands for "Personal Transportation". That's it. It's not "Performance Technology" or "Pleasurable Travels" or "Prowess ...

Pros: Flashy and attractive style, classy interior, smooth and composed ride, amazing versatility, bang-for-your-buck Cons: Underpowered in naturally aspirated models, some hard plastics in the interior, questionable fuel economy The Bottom Line: You can’t get more practical than this and you get style and substance too! But spring for the turbo models.
On a rainy morning here in our town my mom was hit from behind in her 2004 Volvo S60, causing primarily cosmetic damage in addition to damage to the rear floorpan where the spare tire resides. Since the repairs would take several weeks (and the accident ...

Pros: Firm handling. Roomy interior, especially when you take the seats out. Cons: Dead in the water pick-up, Dismal gas mileage. The Bottom Line: The good features are outweighed by the performance deficiencies, so if you must get this car, make sure it's the turbo.
The Love Affair - Love on the rocksIt seems like everyone loves this car, which is what made me start looking at it in the first place. I'm not trying to annoy all you PT lovers by saying it's all bad, but I think it's only fair to a ...

Pros: Sporty, fun, decent fuel economy; great for errands and short day trips. Cons: VERY small interior for tall or large people; not the best vehicle to travel in. The Bottom Line: I would recommend this car to those who want a flashy, fun car to run errands or take short day trips with. Not a great family car; limited space.
Ok, first and foremost, this disclaimer is directed at all menfolk on the Epinions planet: I am not a mechanic. I will never understand motor vehicles. How do we know this for a fact? Well, because: 1. I don't know about engines. 2. I can't ...

It’s important to note that I stepped out of a Mercedes Benz into the PT Cruiser. Suffice it to say, the former was a tough act to follow. You see the lease on my Benz came to term recently. I’ll be changing jobs next month, and so I made a ...

Pros: head room front and back good. Acceleration is ok and handling is firm not agile. Cons: Gas mileage ok not great -low gear ratio. spacy front but small trunk capacity. The Bottom Line: At this price, having a "mini-me" to replace the Previa seems to be so far so good.

Pros: Really smooth ride. Cons: Get a bigger engine. Functionality of controls. Style. The Bottom Line: If you like this car, and feels it suits you, then take it. This car just doesn't fit everyone.
I stepped into this car with a dislike for these ugly blobs floating around the town. To me, Chrysler was only good at making stylish cars, with the exception of this ugly piece. Most of my friends felt the same way. After getting some real time with it, ...

I remember the moment I first saw a Chrysler PT Cruiser ... it was unique, fun, and actually kind of sporty for a car that's considered a crossover or to some a *gasp* "wagon".It is definitely spunky and gets attention, and most likely due to ...

Pros: Great to park, fantastic highway mileage 38 MPG! Cons: Get a manual - cheaper, better on gas, more fun to drive! The Bottom Line: This is a great small family car - you don't need a minivan if you only have one or two children. Spacious, comfortable and fun!
I have heard people describe this car as a gas guzzling mini-van, which is quite frankly ridiculous as it is obviously neither of these things. My car: 2006 PT Cruiser (Manual) I chose this car based on the stated highway mileage, which ...
