Can't Get Enough of This Car, It's My Second Elantra!

by mrrenison
Jan 06 '08 - Updated Oct 16 '09

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 4.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Great Value, Reliable, Affordable, Great Gas Mileage.
Cons: Dated Interior, GT Model Isn't Faster.
The Bottom Line: The Elantra continues to be a fantastic value for the money, and I've put my money where my mouth is by buying a second one.

A couple years ago I purchased a used 2004 Hyundai Elantra to replace a car I wrecked. I really liked the car and provided a positive review on epinions. However, my wife and I had our third child a few months later and we decided we needed a minivan and ...

Pros: Very quiet on the road, Good Gas Mileage, Great Warranty, Great Price,
Cons: Lacks Power, Rather Bland, Aerodynamics,
The Bottom Line: Nothing to special about it, unless you consider the price and warranty. As far as people movers go, this one is very pleasant and efficient.

When the time came to find a new family car, my attention was caught by the low cost and the 100,000 mile/10 year warranty offered by Hyundai. With out luck this seemed too good to pass up. We arrived at the Hyundai dealer to a vast array of "unique" ...

Good lower priced vehicle

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 4.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Great warranty, smooth ride, Cold A/C, Comfortable seating, quiet ride in the city, dependable
Cons: Slow acceleration past 55 MPH, slight wind noise on highway, dash / instrument panel dated
The Bottom Line: I believe this is a good buy because you get an extended warranty that covers the vehicle. I recommend the Elantra to anyone looking for a dependable vehicle under $15,900.

I bought the 2006 Hyundai Elantra GLS due because of the 5 year/60,000 mile bumper-to-bumper warranty and 10 year/ 100,000 mile drivetrain warranty. You can't beat it! MSRP was $15,430.00 but you can negotiate to about 13,998.00 if you work at it. ...

Pros: Gas mileage is great, love driving this car.
Cons: tall people will long for more headroom, stereo is lacking.
The Bottom Line: Terrific Car for a terrific price, the money you save in gas is worth it.

I was in the market for a new car and I did a lot of research. I wanted a nice looking car, good price and excellent gas mileage. Upon heading to my dealership I had my heart set on a 2007 Hyundai Elantra, I had read a great deal about it and it was ...

The Bottom Line: Price, and quickness are great.

I test drove this, and liked it a lot! Its a nice car. The price is good too, which is good for lots of people. Where else can you buy a car for 13,000 dollars with lots of stuff? Nowhere! That is why I like it, and I might buy it. It is a good car, that ...

Pros: Cheap, Great gas mileage, dependable, Amazing warranty
Cons: Not much power. Nothing special to look at. Boring
The Bottom Line: I highly recommend the Elantra because of it's the best deal out there. For the price, it's the highest quality car you will find.

My fiance and I were looking for a second car. Something cheap, dependable, and with great gas mileage. We asked friends who work at distinct used car dealerships and called some other salesman. We were told that the most popular car that fit our ...

06 Hyundai Elantra Review

Pros: Spacious interior and trunk. Many standard options, price, ride.
Cons: fuel economy
I just bought my first Hyundai - 06 Elantra 5 door automatic.. Ebony Black

I love my car, it looks sporty, roomy interior, comfortable ride and low road noise. The stereo is top of the line, sounds better than most with stock stereo's. Has all options fully loaded and for the price you get alot. Spacious Trunk with fold down seats for hauling something long. The only thing is when you start it it shakes for a bit, i took it to dealer but as usual they couldn't duplicate problem.

That isn't the car that is the dealer who knows.

Overall I love my car and would buy another One.

Nice little car!

Pros: price and reliability
Cons: required dealer check-ups for the warranty can be expensive
I bought a 2006 Elantra after driving a 1994 Hyundai Excel for years!!! My Excel lasted more than 12 years, and my experience with it brought me to the Elantra. The price is right, and the car "swoops" once you're driving fast enough. Would recommend for the thrifty who still like a nice little car. Great gas mileage--love filling it up beside people filling up SUVs! The 100K warranty is another plus.

Pros: Great gas mileage, handles well.
Cons: Exiting vehicle can feel a little snug.
I just bought the 2006 Elantra in March of this year. So far, I am very pleased with my purchase. Gas mileage is a big plus especially with soaring gas prices! It rides smoothly and handles well.
I was slightly timid about purchasing this make mainly because I've only driven General Motors products in the past. However, GM has gone downhill in my eyes. Although it's too soon to know how the service will go with my Elantra, I have confidence I've made a good decision after much research.
It comes with an excellent warranty although I will need to see proof as to what will be covered when the time warrants.
I've heard from other people that the warranty doesn't cover everything you expect and hope it to.
I have nothing bad to say about my Hyundai at this time. It drives well, interior is roomy enough, and has many compartments for just about everything you need to store. It's everything I had hoped for and more!

Great car. Radio sucks
by grinfranklin

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 4.0 Recommended: Yes
Pros: Everything except the radio
Cons: The radio
I love (nearly) everything about this car. It is fun to drive, gets good mileage, no reason after 2 years to take it to the dealer for anything. I recommend Hyundai to anybody considering buying one.

But the radio that comes standard simply sucks. I had a 97 Ford wagon before this and the radio could pick up the local AM stations with no problem. Static and weak signal was what my "new" hyundai radio gave me.

I did what they probably expected me to do...had Best Buy install an Alpine radio that doesn't suck. Now I'm totally happy with my Elantra.

Basically you get a car with wheels, or somebody's idea of one.

Pros: Looks, warranty, fuel mileage.
Cons: Acceleration, quality of materials, ergonomics, suspension, engine, braking.
Well it is bland, very bland. The interior materials are absolute garbage. Seats are uncomfortable on long trips, suspension is very soft, brake pedal feel is virtually non-existant, acceleration is horrible (even with 5spd). Engine is very noisy/thrashing sounding, transmission linkage feels super sloppy.
Problems I have experienced:
Transmission (manual) died @ 7500 miles
Steering wheel shimmys over harsh bumps (like that since new, probally just cheap suspension design)
Check engine light playing pee-a-boo from 7500-10,000 miles.

The elantra does get great mileage, looks are okay. Stereo is decent for a stock cd system. Price is pretty low for a new car, excellent warranty. Personally I wouldnt want to be stuck driving this thing for 100k miles.

Elantra GT

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes
Pros: ride,MPG,comfort, good resale value better than corolla sport.
Cons: should have put the 2.7 v6 as an option.
I purchased my Elantra GT which is a 2006 for 15471 out the door. I have 32000 miles and have not had any problems with it at all,i love my GT. if you want to compare the Corolla sport and Honda civic both cost around 20grand before taxes etc. it came with 4 airbags, abs, traction control, sunroof, kenwood cd player upgraded suspension disc brakes, leather seats and more room than the competition. i get 30 mpg in the city, if you are going to get an elantra get the GT or the limited.
