Pros: Good turning and braking, smooth ride, lots of interior space... Cons: ...but very sluggish acceleration and a potential blind spot. The Bottom Line: Perfect for those not ready for a luxury brand, Volvos are known to hold market value. Consider buying a certified pre-owned unit.
The first thing I noticed on the vehicle known for safety is that the 2006 Volvo XC70 actually had a blind spot or me. No vehicle can be manufactured to achieve perfect field of vision for every body type, but I was surprised to see that my vision just ...

Pros: Outstanding fit/finish, decent mileage, comfortable, spacious, good AWD Cons: Somewhat pricey, less than amazing acceleration, headrests do not move The Bottom Line: If want a comfortable, safe, reliable car that can haul your stuff and go places other vehicles shouldn't go with decent mileage, here is your car
Back in 1993 (fresh out of college) I bought a Jeep Cherokee. Twelve years and 200K miles later I decided to buy a new car to last another 12 years. I really loved the Jeep, but now I have a sixteen month old daughter, gas prices are going up and I ...

Pros: Comfy ride, quiet , superb front seats, finish a 10,handling, cargo/grocery storage Cons: Adult leg room in back seat tight. No other complaints. The Bottom Line: Review body of the above primary opinion entry.

Pros: Well engineered
Great cross-over vehicle
Cons: Brake dust accumulate quickly
Cruise control disengages under certain conditions
Expensive Volvo dealership maintenance
The XC 70 is a pleasure to drive and seems very well engineered. You can tell that the car has a great deal of thought put into it's design. The vehicle is quiet inside and out. This wagon also performs well when compared to an SUV which is what I have been driving for the past 10 years. It holds the road well and accelerates nicely for a 5 cylinder vehicle. Although the gas mileage is not stellar, I have been getting an average of 23MPG with mostly city driving. Obviously, it does better on the highway. I have been using mostly regular octane gas with no noticeable problems. Volvo recommends using high octane gas. The rear seating is a bit tight; however, it is still comfortable enough for long rides. The leather seats have lumbar support and that makes a world of difference in driving longevity. The cargo space is good and a cargo box on the roof allows for as much space as most SUVs. I purchased mine as a certified vehicle with 17K miles on it. It drives like new.
