Why the ES is good for driving enthusiasts

by mkaresh mkaresh is a Lead on Epinions in Cars & Motorsports, Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 10
Jul 25 '06 - Updated Oct 17 '06

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 4.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Improved exterior, effortless acceleration, silent cushy ride
Cons: Steering very light, a bit of float and torque steer
The Bottom Line: Very good LUXURY sedan. Those seeking sport will want the IS.

When Lexus first launched in 1990, the line contained two models: the LS, a large sedan that was new from the ground up, and the ES, which was heavily based on a Japanese domestic market variant of the Camry. While the silence, smoothness, and refinement ...

2007 Lexus ES350: This is a lifestyle I could get used to

by trailhound Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 500
Jun 30 '07

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 4.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Very nice to drive. Pleasant appearance. Lots of luxury items.
Cons: Rear visibility. Price!
The Bottom Line: The Lexus ES350 is a terrific luxury car in all respects. But they are not cheap to own or operate.

Lexus automobiles have been the luxury flagship for Toyota Motor Corporation since the late 1980s. I have always heard Lexus owners rave about these cars' qualities and reliability records. However, it was just recently that I had the opportunity to ...

A Gadget Freak's Dream Car

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Smooth, elegant comfort; an impressive range of high-tech features. Almost smarter than I am!
Cons: Parking assist sometimes gives false positives; servicing was needed to fix brake rotor problem.
The Bottom Line: Overall, a very nice car. The service issue I had was promptly and courteously handled by the dealer. Experimenting with its many features is fun.

Finding myself with enough money to afford it, I decided to get more upscale with my newest car purchase to replace my aging 1997 Nissan Maxima. Several close family members owned Lexuses (or should that plural be "Lexi"?) and had nothing but good ...

Entry-level luxury done right

by lordchocice

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Lexus quality, high comfort, excellent fit and finish
Cons: Don't mistake it for a sports sedan, torque-steering front wheel drive
The Bottom Line: If you are looking for a comfortable luxury sedan with all the trimmings, buy it. If you want horsepower and performance, keep looking.

For those of you in the market for a Lexus ES 350, you’ve probably read several professional reviews already. This is Lexus’ entry-level sedan, based on the Toyota Camry. I’ve had the occasion to drive a 2007 Camry, and now I’ve had an extended loaner ...

A Rolling Computer

Aug 30 '07 - Updated Sep 08 '07

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 4.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Soft ride, reliability, dealer service, keyless entry, practically drives itself, sunscreen, resale value, spacious trunk.
Cons: Visibility. Transmission flash on some cars. Lexus can't pinpoint the cause.
The Bottom Line: 4 stars. Visibility is poor. Bridgestone tires are not the quality of Michelins. Anyone who wants a soft ride wants Michelins.

How do you turn a computer off? Click Start. How do you turn a Lexus on? Step on the brake. Then press start. My husband and I laugh thinking of Abbot trying to explain this to Costello. We bought this car because my Chronic Fatigue Syndrome had ...

I wouldn't have bought a Lexus had they told me!!!

Feb 25 '08

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 1.0 Recommended: No

Pros: Ride is smooth
Cons: Poor customer service experience. Useless navigation system. Handling is sloppy.
The Bottom Line: Do not buy a Lexus or Toyota as they don't respect their customers to drive responsibly and misrepresent their products capabilities.

I purchased a new Lexus ES350. The dealer (and all the marketing material) failed to disclose the fact that many (most?) of the cool features of the much hyped navigation system are intentionally locked-out as a "safety" feature when the vehicle is in ...

The Only Car You'll Ever Want to Drive

Apr 02 '08

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: All the luxury you'll ever want in a mid-priced luxury car.
Cons: The monthly lease payments are killer, but worth it.
The Bottom Line: I highly recommend this car for anyone desiring a good level of luxury, driveability, and roominess in a mid-priced sedan.

When my husband talked me into test-driving a Lexus, I wondered why not an Acura? Infiniti? Mercedes? Actually he wanted me to try the Mercedes next, but by that time I was hooked on my Lexus test drive. I started out by falling in love with the ...

WOW!!! nice ride, but not quite Perfect

by hdedsouth

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Comfort, Park assist, Power tilt telescope column with memory, Rain sensing wipers
Cons: Poor Navigation and voice recognition systems, small glove box.
The Bottom Line: Want Luxury? This is a great car, and you can get a great deal as the dealer has a large mark up and allot of room to negotiate.

After looking at nearly every so called luxury car available in the $30K-$40K range, my wife and I just struck a great deal and picked up a Loaded 2007 ES350. This is the quietest and most comfortable car we found and it is loaded with tons of neat ...

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Great Value, Smooth Performance, Very Good MPG
Cons: Upholstery Installation
The Bottom Line: Great Value, Smooth Performance, Highly Recommend

In the 16 months I've owned my 2007 Lexus 350 it has been perfect. I only have 11,000 miles on it, but its performance so far has been perfect. It's very quiet, 30+ mpg on the open road, smooth as silk transmission and adequate interior space. I ...

Glorified Camry

by scamwb
May 27 '07

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 4.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: smooth ride, comfortable seats, nice styling, loads of gadgets, Lexus service, resale value
Cons: dreadful rear visibility, value vs Camry, pedestrian non distinctive Lexus, difficult to master navigation system
The Bottom Line: I would buy the Camry unless you must have a Lexus. Maybe they will do something about the rear visibility

I drove one overnight. The dealer let me take it home for the weekend. It was a very nice car but not worth 10K more than the Camry XLE it is derived from. The lack of visibility out of the rear window is unacceptable in a car costing almost $40K. A ...

Very pleased with our new Lexus 2007 ES 350

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes
Pros: Value for the price, standard features, size and handling.
Cons: None
We purchased our new Lexus ES350 a few months ago and we have been nothing but pleased with it. We traded in a jaguar S type and the Lexus drives much smoother and has many more features. It is the perfect size- not too big and not too small. The value you receive in this car is terrific and we couldn't be happier with our decision to purchase this car.

Just great Car

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes
Pros: Just great car
Cons: i wish, they did not build this on Toyota Camry Base.
Well, i had few cars in my life. Honda Accord, Acura TL S-type, Bmw 740 IL. Due to lots of driving, i bought my ES 330 2005. I am sure, 2007 model drives even better.

Many people talk about slownest of the car when you press gas pedal, it is normal. Non of the luxury cars, except crazy BMW, accelerate as soon as you press that pedal. Luxury cars do thing smooth, with brain.

I drove for 3 years Acura 2002 TL s type, it was very sporty and crazy car. no luxury, even it is in the same class as Lexus ES. Less room, drives like Honda Accord.

Get any Lexus, u will get luxury and comfort.
Many trips to Florida from North Jersey, no pain, just smooth ride.

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes
Pros: Superior silky performance, quietness, excellent protection from collision
Cons: windshield wipers do not go down completely
After thinking for a long time, I finally brought my first Lexus. I used to drive Acura CL, but poor service in Acura dealership in Chicago and average performance of the car made me decide to change to other brands. I went to Lexus and Lincoln dealerships. Lexus dealerships is the best in service. I also got a good deal with 35.5 K for Premium plus through internet pricing. I love my new car after driving for a few hundred miles.
