4711 27.1oz Eau De Cologne Spray S Perfumes 4711 by 4711 for Men and Women - Unisex

Pros: Crisp, fruity and clean scent
Cons: None that I can think of.

My German grandmother wore this cologne. So intrigued with it, I used to sneak "whiffs" from the bottle when I was a little girl. I found my own bottle at an upscale cosmetics shop where I live, and I'm surprised at how well it competes with contemporary fragrances.

Pros: This 4711 COLOGNE is a smash . Absolutely awesome!
Cons: Nothing against this other than it is so expensive, but well worth it.

This is the finest cologne to ever have gone on my body which is now many years old. If this cologne was good enough for my Grandfather and Great-Grandfather and Napoleon it is good enough for me.
Most women I met were more attracted to this Cologne than any other.
It is the best of the best for any man including the United States Marines.

4711 Eau de Cologne is undoubtedly the oldest continually manufactured colognes. Its citrus/spice/musk tones have made it a favored fragrance of men and women in Europe for generations. Not just fresh, and not quite exotic, it is the stuff of memories. (My great-grandmother brought a bottle of 4711 Eau de Cologne among the treasures of her hope chest when she came to America as an immigrant bride.) I can think of no scent more evocative of welcomed breezes on a wilting hot summer day than this one particular aroma.

Pros: Smells so fresh and so versatile.
Cons: There isn't really any cons.

If it's good enough for George Washington than it's good enough for me. I was shocked that I liked this fragrance considering how old it is. It is amazingly fresh with a kick of citrus and the musk brings substance and ties this all together. It is used for medicinal purposes as well and it is great for disinfecting stuff too. I highly recommend this to anyone who wants something that is versatile and quality.

My sister introduced me to 4711 when I was in my teens and I have adored the fresh, not overpowering fragrance for the last forty years.I love to splash the cologne on liberally since the fragrance lingers on the skin and is only experienced by those who get very close to you, not to those in a crowd. Personally, I find heavy perfumes to be offensive especially during allergy season when I become particularly sensitive to the content of the air which I must breath.

I knew the very old origin of this wonderful cologne wich by the way was the Original one(4711 was the Glockengasse or house number when Napoleon invented this numbers in Cologne)since I was Seven years old.My grandparents and my uncle and aunts imported it from Germany. Now I am an Ambassador in DC and I still use it. I know that Simon Bolivar used it. It's refreshing and with a very clean odor. Women just love it.

Pros: Unisex. Classic. Timeless. Great value for the price.
Cons: Hard to find full line of products in the US.

I think 4711 is the next best thing to Eau d'Orange Verte by Hermès. It has a wonderful citrusy scent and it works on both men and women.

A 6.5oz spray bottle of 4711 EDC retails for about $24, while a 6.5oz spray bottle of Orange Verte EDC retails for $110. You do the math.

Somewhere I read a customer complaint that the scent didn't last long. If that's a problem for you, here are a couple of ideas to try:
1. Layer different products with the same scent. In addition to the EDC, buy the soap and/or shower gel (and if you're a man, the after shave).
2. Reapply. Decant some of the EDC into a small atomizer to keep in your purse, briefcase or desk, so you can apply a second time later in the day. (Refillable spray atomizers w/ pipettes or funnels can be bought on eBay.)
