WHAT IS THE ATI TV WONDER? The ATI Wonder VE is ATI's entry level TV Tuner card for your PC, though the only limitation that this card has which warrants the VE (value edition) name is that audio playback is mono. The card installs in a PCI ...
Pros: Good record quality. Guide Plus software. Cons: Tech support, not fully compatible with XP as indicated by their drivers.
The thought of being able to watch TV on my desktop intrigued me enough to go out and spring for a TV Tuner card ($30). This plus the fact that I could record programming for future viewing or to archive.
Pros: An interesting idea for a product that is easy to install. Cons: It doesn't always work.

Have you ever wanted to watch tv while your surfing the net or working on your computer? Or have you ever wanted to edit your own home movies right on your own computer?
Pros: You can watch and record TV Cons: I couldn't get the current drivers to work.
I've always liked the idea of recording my favorite shows in digital format and eventually just have a CD of my favorite scenes from various shows. I bought this product at Circuit City for 49 bucks but it was really 39 bucks with a 10 dollar rebate...
Pros: It works weightlessly without taxing your computer. You've never seen such fluid video. Cons: The software is buggy, actually unfinished, and difficult to work with in Windows XP
The TV Wonder VE
Want to watch Buffy while surfing? Thinking of editing video for fun and profit? This card may be a cost-effective high-quality method of doing so. It lacks software you’d want for extensive editing, but you can easily record,...
Pros: Decent TV recording, Captures camcorder footage well with 3rd-party software Cons: ATI software does not take full advantage of the card's capture capability
With the advantage of having read the earlier reviews, I am restricting my comments to topics not covered or covered inadequately. In general, I found the TV Wonder VE card to be quite functional and capable of high-quality TV playback and video capture...

Where can you get a $39, 19 inch TV/VCR combo?
I bought the card with a reasonable expectations. More than anything, I wanted to be able to browse the web and write email while listening to the 3-4 shows a week I like.
I bought this for use in my K6 II clone that's a couple of years old. All the ports are on the motherboard, so that should have been my first sign that things would not go well - but I carried on and tried anyway.
Pros: PCI SLOT, easy install, UPDATED DRIVERS AVAILABLE at ATI, easy to find at store Cons: DRIVERS HARD TO CONFIGURE, SYSTEM MAY LOCK UP
Be warned, This was not an easy card to set up. My install took 4 hours. I have been building my own PC's since 1990. This was a moderately difficult install. My guess it that ATI brand labels this card as the technical support is non-existant. It goes...

Features of this TV card abound. It includes most of the features of the more expensive ATI-TV Wonder, including digital VCR with scheduled viewing, multi-channel preview, and some closed captioning features. I found that most of these were...
Pros: None. No wait...I was able to get TV listings for my area code. That's neat. Cons: TV function doesn't work at all. Software, manual, and support is poor.
I always wanted to have this feature. It's a cheap way of getting another TV. When I bought my Dell in March 2001, it didn't offer a video card at the time with the TV option.
So when I saw the TV Wonder VE (3/02), I was interested. The...
