Pros: Smells great, tingly, takes out product build up Cons: More expensive than some, too drying for everyday use
Not pleased with many shampoos, and concerned about how much my scalp was drying from daily washing and hair styling products, my search led me to take a look at specialty stores and lines of hair care products - one of the ones I tried was a company ...
Pros: Works great, smells great, all around great product Cons: Hard to find, an a little out of my price range
Have you ever been to Hawaii? I’d fathom to guess not many people from the East Coast of the continental US have. If you have been, you’ll agree with me when I say I recommend that every red blooded American should go see it at least once. It’s a...
Pros: wonderful minty, herbal smell Cons: the high price may not be justifiable to some
My Aveda Rosemary Mint Experience Last summer I went to an Aveda Salon in Asheville, North Carolina. For a total of seven dollars, I came away with only 3.4 ounces of product. Why did I pay so much money? When the hairdresser began washing my hair, I ...
Pros: gentle, pretty packaging, interesting scent Cons: need to use a lot, may be hard to find a suitable conditioner, price
Aveda is famous for having unique smelling products. Visiting an Aveda store is quite the olfactory experience. In accordance with Avedas image as an environmentally-friendly and natural company that uses a galore of botanical extracts, ...
Pros: Great smell, hair is clean & smooth, absolutely no buildup with long-term use. Cons: You'll have to pay for it with cash, your husband will freak at the cost.
Only ten short years ago, when "mall bangs" and AquaNet and Sun-In were all the rage, I had perfect hair. I grew it down to the middle of my back, permed it, poured lemon juice and any other blonde-enhancing thing I could hide from my mother all over...
Pros: Freshly scented, clean rinsing Cons: Price, maybe, and some people may not like the scent
The Product First of all, this is not an ordinary shampoo. From the scent, appearance, sensation, and effects, it would be quite possible to call it a Therapy Shampoo. Every morning, a fresh, clean, and crisp smell of mint with a hint of ...
Pros: Great smell, nice change of pace Cons: A bit expensive, hard to find
After a long overdue (and hard-earned!) massage at a local day spa I decided to treat myself to the new Aveda Rosemary Mint shampoo and conditioner. I had glimpsed at something in the waiting area that said Oprah had recommended it so I thought I'd give...
Pros: Smells nice Cons: Made my head itch and dryed out my hair
I have an on and off love affair with aveda products, but I was very dissapointed with this shampoo and the conditioner that goes with it.
I found that although the mint smell was pleasant it irritated my scalp, adn I think it may have also made...
As Good as Your Morning Cup of Coffee! by smartshop411 ,Dec 03 '03
Pros: unique smell that wakes you up, scalp and hair feel squeaky clean Cons: somewhat expensive
I've used many Aveda products and have always found them to be of high quality. This shampoo is no exception. The minty smell energizes and wakes me up during my morning shower. The shampoo also makes my scalp tingle (in a good way). The shampoo lathers up nicely and a little goes a long way.
I have fine hair and many hair products leave it limp and over-conditioned. When I use this shampoo, my hair is full of body and shine and smells wonderful!
It's easy to get hooked on Aveda products due to their high quality, emphasis on natural ingredients, and pleasing scents. If your hair is dry or damaged, you will probably need to use a conditioner as well. My fine hair didn't need any.
While this shampoo doesn't take the place of coffee, it definitely will give you a jump-start in the morning!
Pros: Great smell, really lifts dulling product residue and adds shine and body. Cons: May be a bit drying for already dryish hair.
What a marvelous find! Got this in a 1.7 oz. size, mercifully, Aveda makes these handy small sizes to try before you commit to the full sized bottles. Was impressed on the very first use. Made my hair look and feel soft, smoother and cleaner. It really lifts off dulling styling residue and refreshes the scalp and appearance of hair. The extra body factor is there because it takes off a lot of the gunk that can weigh very fine hair like mine down. Love the minty, pleasant smell, but this may not be for everyday use. Really adds body and shine and will repurchase for life! Much less stripping than Neutrogena's build-up remover shampoo, this stuff rocks!
Pros: Great everyday shampoo- works for all hair types Cons: Pricier than store brands, but woth every penny
I as a big fan of Ice Blue shampoo from The Body Shop, until I became hooked on Aveda products. Their Rosemary Mint shampoo is the best clarifying shampoo I've used. Since moving from Chicago to FLA, my hair has gone from shiny (even with highlighting and blow drying) to straw. Aveda's shampoos contain no detergents (store brands like Finesse and Pert do), so they won't rob your hair of vital oils and nutrients. The rosemary mint shampoo leaves your scalp feeling tingly and squeaky clean, and your hair manageable. The bottle says it's for fine to normal hair, but I have thick wavy tresses, and it works great. Worth the money. NOTE: Target (at least by us) is now starting to carry Aveda products at lower prices than retail (a 33.8 oz. bottle retails for $35.00- I paid $25.00). Check your local stores to find out.
Pros: Delightful morning jolt of fragrance Cons: Doesn't add shine or softness
This is a delightful shampoo for starting off the day with a refreshing shower, but the product won't really do anything special for your hair's condition or texture. Since I get my hair cut at an Aveda salon, I've purchased an awful lot of the Aveda hair and body products. I've done that more to support my hairdresser's business than because any of the products stand out. In fact, I normally use other bath and product products.
Aveda does a lot of training of salon owners to increase their sales abilities. They may be going a bit overboard because my salon owner has made surprising claims such as "Aveda shampoos are so much better than cheaper brands because you're not buying a lot of water." Well, maybe the aqueous extracts listed as the first ingredient (and therefore most plentiful) on almost every Aveda shampoo contain trace amounts of other chemicals, but an aqueous extract is still water. I'm sure the company isn't training its salon owners to deliberately mislead customers, but I'd suggest taking any wild claims as marketing rather than as serious.
