Pros: hard wood, convertible, very low mattress settting bonus for tall kids Cons: 2 hands required to lower sides, not friendly to crib attachments
One of the most exciting things during my pregnancy was thinking about planning a special nursery area decorated just for our baby. I remember how exciting it was picking out furniture and looking at all the different options that were available. I also...
Pros: great customer service from manufacture. Anytime you have a question they are there. Cons: Instruction sheet could use a little more detail on mattress attachment and adjustment.
I purchased the Generation Next Crib for my second child. After Looking for a crib that would be needed for a special needy child was hard. I wanted the best. And also wanted to make sure that It would stand the test of time. It was so beautiful and ...
Pros: Beautiful crib. Manufacturer did send someone out to check out crib. Cons: Poor engineering. Manufacturer did not resolve issues.
We bought a Generation crib from Baby's Dream because it was gorgeous. Very nice design. We were pleased with the crib, until we lowered it to the bottom level since our baby was standing up. This ended up leaving a huge gap between the mattress and the ...
Pros: well built, heavy construction, great looks and convertibility Cons: not easy to move through doors
We purchased this bed in the oak cherry rather than the pine because of concerns of teething marks. I am glad we chose the oak wood in this bed. The bed is built very well and uses high quality materials. My only complaint is that you do need 2 hands ...
Pros: Beautiful, high quality convertible furniture Cons: Crib doesn't fit traditional bumper pads, Two hands required to open sides
We must have looked at every crib manufacturer before deciding on Generation next. We wanted furniture that our baby could grow into and that future siblings could use as well. The crib converts first into a toddler bed and then into a double bed. We ...
Pros: high quality construction Cons: Crib toys difficult to attach
Very nice quality crib. Will last a lifetime. We purchased 2 of these cribs, one for each child and are very satisfied.
Crib toys are difficult to attach, but you can get around that (if the toys have thin straps) by unscrewing the side attachment and slipping the straps in between and then securing.
The newer bedding set I purchased has the ties in different locations so I had no problems attaching the bumper, unlike the bedding for the older child, which had to be modified to attach to the wider slats on the crib.
Overall-very happy with this product.
the best for my grandchildren by ggglad ,Sep 10 '04
Pros: solid furniture, beautiful wood, easy to assemble, everything you need to assemble is included Cons: assemble crib where you want it, due to weight(I find to be a plus)
I first saw this crib at our small local baby furniture store shopping for a friend. I decided than when I had a grandchild that was going to be the crib for him or her. I have bought 3 so far. My children just love the cribs and are proud to be owners of a Baby's Dream Generation Crib. Due to the quality of this crib my daughter has used the same crib for 3 children. Not only such a beautiful piece of furniture, The quality in material and workmanship is outstanding.
Thank you for such a wonderful crib.
Pros: so safe, sturdy, easy to change to toddler bed and lower mattress. Cons: need two hands to lower side
i have been so pleased with the baby's dream generation next crib so far. my son in 7 months old and has been in this crib since he was 3 months old. we have lowered the mattress already-so so easy to do!!!!! and although you need two hands to lower the side to get to him, it is so sturdy and so safe-i never worry about my little guy in there. one thing to keep in mind though-if you are buying linens for a "traditional" crib-note that the ribbons that sometimes help to tie on bumper pads may not be long enough to fit around the wide legs and centers of this crib. it is beautiful and i love it. i look forward to seeing my little one grow with this furniture.
Pros: nothing Cons: They don't keep their word! The crib for life is only good for 6 years!
DO NOT BUY A CRIB FROM Baby's Dream!!! We purchased a crib from Baby's Dream in 2002 and they discontinued the crib, and do not provide the adult bed rails. So, the 4 in 1 crib cannot be used with the headboard and foot board in a full size bed. I called the company and they said they were sorry, but that's what happens. Nothing else. If you do decide to buy a crib from them be aware it might not be available later for parts or conversion kits and the company doesn't seem to care
Beautiful but not terribly practical by rcandap ,Nov 05 '08
Pros: High-quality and classic looking, works well as a toddler daybed. Cons: Drop gate top-heavy, no normal crib bedding fits, noticeable holes in wood when converted.
We picked this crib because it was high-quality and classic looking, and is supposed to go through all stages of the child's life. I probably wouldn't choose it again, however, for a few reasons. One, the drop gate is very top-heavy, requires both hands to lower, and if you aren't careful can bang down with impressive volume really startling the baby (has happened more than once to us). Two, no normal crib bedding fits--bumper ties won't go around the center or end panels and a skirt doesn't really work with it either. And lastly, it works well as a toddler daybed, but when we went to purchase the conversion kit to use it as a full-size bed (headboard/footboard) were told those packages are hard to find anymore, since people didn't like how it looked due to the noticeable holes in the wood when it was converted.
Baby's Dream Furniture of Buena Vista, Georgia has been the subject of several investigative reports by Channel Two News in Atlanta, GA. An independent laboratory tested cribs and baby furniture produced by the company. The results were very high levels of formaldehyde in the materials used to construct the cribs and all of the furniture tested. My wife and I were amazed to learn how dangerous formaldehyde is and contacted the manufacturer to discuss our concerns. Baby's Dream ran us in circles for over two weeks and offered us no help in resolving the problem The company simply states that they currently produce a safe product but were not required to do so when we purchased our crib a year ago. Baby's Dream has not behaved like a reputable company and should be avoided at all costs.
