Pros: Cleans effectively, good value, attractive, easy to use Cons: Slightly heavier than a vacuum, large jobs require multiple refills
My husband and I batted around the idea of getting a steam cleaner for years. I'd read all kinds of horror stories about leakage and poor performance, and just wasn't sure it was worth the expense or hassle--that is, until we got a puppy. We were ...
Pros: Sturdy, attractive, lots of controls, heated water and hot air drying Cons: No real cons affecting performance and use.

November 2009!Recently, my wonderful red machine (that I've used nearly daily for months now) stopped spraying water. After much messing around, I got it to work again, but ...
Pros: Heated water, Great attachments, light, powerful Cons: Small water tank, might take a couple tries on really dirty carpet.
I just bought a new house, and along with it, a bunch of dirty carpet. Though it wasn't all that old, the carpet in the house was filthy. At first, I thought that perhaps I would need to replace it all, but decided to try to clean it first. So, I was ...
Pros: The double roller system. The side blowers. The quick shot dispenser. Cons: There are no cons....well, maby the fact the machines do not last forever.
I bought my Bissell July 30 of 2007 and worked it to death. I have three dogs at home and a lot of carpet so it was a life saver at home. For as we all know dogs do not always go potty out side when it rains but inside is always nice and warm and ...
Pros: Easy to use system and solutions that deliver. Cons: Leaves carpet damper than a professional cleaner. I used a fan to hasten drying.
After researching various cleaners my wife and I decided to purchase the Bissell 9500. After using it 2 weeks ago, we remain impressed with how well it cleaned our carpet. We have expensive carpet in our home, but we also have 2 dogs, a Pomeranian "Pom" ...
Pros: Apparently Bissell manufactures a perfect product every time (this is sarcasm, see the comments). Cons: Poor customer service from Bissell, not willing to honor warranty.
I did lots of research before deciding to spend hundreds of dollars on a steam cleaner. It seemed that the Bissell ProHeat 2x was the best value for my money. I wasn't ready to use it when I first bought it, so it sat in the box for 2 ...
Pros: Light, quiet and easy to use compared to rentals. Cons: Have to refill it often.
I really enjoyed using this machine. I have been wanting to purchase one for a long time, had narrowed down my cleaner selection to this particular machine and then was happily surprised a friend had one I could borrow. Let me just say that I would buy this machine in a heartbeat and plan to as soon as my next Bed, Bath and Beyond coupon arrives. This machine is so easy to use compared to rental machines that I have used many times. It is easily maneuverable, it is not nearly as loud, and it really seems to do as good a job as any machine I've used. Yes, you have to refill it a lot, but that is a small price to pay to use such an easy machine. I really expected to "settle" on a home machine versus renting more professional machines. But this is not settling at all. It is so easy to use I can see myself cleaning the carpets much more regularly, which is excellent for health reasons.
Pros: Cleaning Suction/power Variable cleaning settings Seperate cleaner tank Water heating feature Carrying handle for stairs Multiple cleaning tools Cons: Price Small clean/dirty water tank
This is my third carpet cleaning machine and by far the best. I still have an old machine, different brand, that still works but it never did clean to my satisfaction. We have a dog that sometimes makes a mess and needed a new machine for those in between professional cleanings. I hesitated on buying a new machine thinking how much could they change over the last 8 years and do we really want to waste the money for something that may only be marginally better. Boy was I wrong. This machine really did the job and cleaned very well. We were planning on having a professional cleaning in the next month but now have decided to wait and see for another 6 months. I would reccomend this machine to anyone who is on the fence wondering if they should purchase this model or another, I was not disapointed.
Leaks dirty water and leavs dirty spots on carpet by lrizzo2001 ,Oct 30 '08
Pros: can't say it has any if these are going to be my results Cons: Floor attachment lifts brushes off the ground, Carpet took forever to dry.
I just picked up this unit from Sears, and as I was cleaning my carpet I couldn't believe how many little dark spots I had that I hadn't noticed before. Well that's because THEY WEREN'T THERE until I started to shampoo the carpet with this machine. It leaks the dirty water and leave little drops of dirty staining watter all over the carpet. I had to run out to the supermarket and rent their machine to clean what this machine did to my carpet. It's going back in the morning...... I wouldn't reco
Cleans well but.....can't stop the flow by redeagle27 ,Sep 12 '09
Pros: Cleans well. Easy to use. Cons: It's dispensing water and soap continously after using it only about 5 times.
I have had this for less than a year and have been very satisfied but now when I use it, it is dispensing water and soap continously without engaging the trigger. I had to empty the water and soap tank in order to mop up all the water it dumped into the carpet. I think this unit is too new to have problems like this. Not really happy about it.
