Pros: No more standing guard over the stove, perfect rice every time, very easy clean up. Cons: Absolutely none.
It didn't matter what I did to improve the quality of rice at our dinner table, the rice was either gummy or crunchy. Once I was teaching one of my children how to make white rice and she apparently could not differentiate between steam and smoke....

Pros: Simple to use, cooks rice much faster than stovetop Cons: Trial and error necessary on rice to water ratio
As we all know, the ratio of raw rice to water is key. There are confusing instructions on how to make 3 cups of cooked rice...and how to make 10 cups of cooked rice. But there is no ratio given for any quantity in between. The measurements cannot be...

bad rice cooker
by sammydf ,Jan 22 '04
Pros: none it broke too quickly Cons: only lasted 9 months, nonstick coating too thin
I bought this in April of 2003 and used it about twice a week until January 2004 when it just stopped working. The Oster I owned before I bought the Black and Decker lasted 5 years. I wouldn't ever buy this rice cooker again, pay a little more and get one that will last.

Not So Non-stick
by chehsirecatt72 ,Feb 20 '06
Pros: Made excellent rice every time. It was a regularly used appliance in our kitchen. Cons: The non-stick surface didn't last very long. It was very difficult to clean.
We received this for our wedding in 2000 and it just broke now. So it lasted about 5 years. We thought it made very good rice and used it at least once a week. The only complaint we have is that the bowl was very difficult to clean. The rice stuck to the bowl and we had to let the bowl soak for a few hours and then scrub it before it went in the dishwasher.
